Re: Best team for each franchise?

For Pittsburgh, I am going to put up the 78 team...mostly because I have read articles where both Bradshaw and Swann said they thought that was their best team.

Tough to compare the 78 and 79 team...and the 75 team was great too, but I'll go with the players on this one!

The 71 and 78 teams were actually rated higher in off and def in league rankings. The Aikman/Smith teams were incredible...but from a stats point of view I think the 71 or 78 team beats them...compared to rest of the league that is...

92 Eagles. That defense was one of the best ever.

Did you mean 1992? 93 wasn't very good defensively at all...like 19th in the league I think. 92 was better at 6th in the league. 2004 team was ranked 2nd I believe.

yea those teams were loaded. I enjoy finding stuff to watch and read on them, especially the '77 team.

but not being able to watch those team live, It's hard for me to compare them to the 90s teams

Re: Best team for each franchise?

According to the stats, the 1969 raiders were their best team. First in offense and second in defense. 12-1-1 during the year, but lost Conf Championship to a powerhouse Chiefs team.

1976 team had a good offense but mediocre defense that really came alive at the end of the year and started shutting down teams including only allowing 14 pts in the SB that year.

Tough call between these 2...

Some great dvds made by the NFL...you can actually watch full game broadcasts of the Superbowls from the 1970's, as well as highlights from the Cowboys all the way back to mid-60's...

They have full game broadcasts of 70s SBs on DVD now?

Link please?

BTW I've got a few Cowboys games and wow Roger Staubach was great. I also enjoyed watching their defense as well.
