Is Jack Del Rio right to do this?

Jack Del Rio puts the kibosh on Garrard's radio show

Personally I think his reason for nixing the show is kind of weak.

Quote:
"I've let my feelings be known to David about what's most important late in the week," Del Rio said. "It's very important for us as a football team to, when you're less than 48 hours from the game, to make sure your attention is on the game, your focus is on the game.

"If you're not studying film, you ought to be relaxing with the family. So, those are my thoughts. I conveyed them to him."
I didn't know sitting around in a studio or live location for an hour is more taxing then spending time with family?

Meh.

Who cares, JAX is not a winning team whether Garrard talks on the radio an hour or if he channels Peyton Manning for an hour.

Signs of a desperate coach.

Pretty much, I mean it's not like you have fans in the stadium in Jax watching the game, might as well let them see the players out in town doing radio shows. I know the Ravens for example have radio shows pretty much all week from varying location in and around Baltimore.

Yea but the Ravens shows are the Raven's Shows. It's organized through the team. This however is some personal endeavor of Garrard's NOT organized through the team.

MAYBE...if Garrard had let Del Rio know about it in the offseason, or preseason he wouldn't have been as strict about the show.

I mean if JAX somehow pulls together a run at the postseason and falls short.... This could easily become something that is held over their heads. I could definitely see the media flaming Del Rio because his QB was doing a radio show 2 days before a big game.

It's Del Rio's team, not Garrard's, and ultimately Del Rio's head is on the chopping block.

I also don't think any of the Ravens shows are later in the week like it sounds this one is.
