Re: The Kyle Orton dilemma

He had a great 3-4 game stretch last season before he got injured. He was posting good numbers...I really thought that at that time, he would be Chicago's guy. Then he got injured, came back and played like crap.

He's looking really good now though.

Bet the Redskins go after him if he tests the market.

The Bears also won two games at the end of the year in OT when his QB rating was under 50 both games.

Re: The Kyle Orton dilemma

I really don't think Kyle Orton is this good at all. He's been protected very well most of the season, the more and more he starts to get tested, the more and more I see him start to fade.

But I don't see why you shouldn't resign him if you're Denver. You have no other answer at QB, and you'd have to draft one. He's your best option. I just wouldn't throw the bank at him like he's my franchise, if I'm them.

People claiming he's outplaying Cutler are just insane. Sorry. Denver is winning games with their defense, I take my hat off to Nolan. He's made a MUCH better unit than I ever expected. It isn't like Orton is going out there and dominating people. I totally agree with the sentiment that Orton on the Bears probably has 1-2 wins if even that, right now, while Cutler is probably undefeated on this Denver team. Cutler is having a pretty good season, given the crap he has in Chicago, and the fact that they can't get any running game going whatsoever. Orton would never be able to move the ball on that offense the way Cutler does.

I think it depends on what "paying him" means. If it means a few year deal with a decent salary then yes, pay him. If it means some 5-6 year guy at 9+ mil a season then no, do not pay him that.

He's worth a new contract for sure. Pretty good QB.

Kyle is doing a great job with the weapons that they have, while Cutler is basically winning games with a crappy O-line, no #1 WR and a running game that regressing by every game that's being played this season.

Like I stated, If Orton was QB for the Bears we'd be 0-5 and if Cutler was with the Broncos he'd be on pace for 50 TD's this season.

Yep. I forgot to mention that last night and that is how Cutler is playing with no running support this year while last year Orton had a pretty dominant Forte.

Yeah, but probably on pace to miss the playoffs again, too.

See, we've already watched Orton QB a team into playoff positioning and that was with a nothing-special receiving core (even though he got benched before ever playing in the playoffs).
