Re: Mike Holmgren is in Cleveland with his agent.

Devin Hester had a decent season...To say he's mediocre would be very unfair to him.

Isn't "decent" another way of saying "mediocre"?

maybe your criteria, but not mine...

I've seen Devin a lot this season and he's made some big catches and played solid WR.

Anyone who thinks he's a WR1 is on crack. But he'd be a perfect number 2 guy who can get 50-60 receptions for close to 900 yards ala Steve Breaston.

If you have a guy who's really special, have him do the thing that makes him special. Are you going to tell Hines Ward to go play DB because he's a good hitter? Hell no. You'd just burn him up playing him both ways.

Keep Cribbs where he is.
Not really the same thing though. Cribbs has been a star returning AND on coverage and has been a part of their special play packages for a while. Hester's move to WR was more a reason to pay him more and when they did they wanted his focus to be on WR. Cribbs isn't really playing much WR. When he does it's for a screen pass or reverse. Otherwise he's lining up in the wildcat (and may line up as RB some this week). He's more like Randel El was in PIT. I agree, they shouldn't make him a full time WR but they need to keep using him.

Well you're agreeing with me then. I'm not saying not to use him AT ALL on offense, I'm just saying don't make him a starter.

Holmgren declines Seattle's job offer

The Seattle Seahawks offered a job to former coach Mike Holmgren in a "senior leadership position," but Holmgren declined the offer, the team announced Saturday.

Holmgren, who has also interviewed with the Cleveland Browns for their director of football operations position, met with members of the Seahawks staff, including CEO Tod Leiweke.

"I sincerely thank Paul Allen and Tod for all their support over the years," Holmgren said in a statement. "I thank them for reaching out to me and we conclude these discussions as friends."

Leiweke said the team met with Holmgren after becoming aware of the time he spent with the Browns and the "associated time pressures" from that situation.

"We hold Mike in high regard and wish the Holmgren family the very best with their new horizons," Leiweke said.

It is presumed the Browns offered Holmgren the job during his visit and it appears he is weighing his options, which could include several other teams in the days and weeks ahead.

Jim Donovan, the Browns' play-by-play announcer, reported Wednesday night that Cleveland's offer to Holmgren is for between $8 million and $10 million per season.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
