If he is as great as many say, four great teams should equal at least two championships. I think Favre is a great quarterback, but when I see articles that have him in the top 5 all time, I wince, he's not that great. I also don't think Romo is overrated, just over analyzed.

I agree. I love Favre and he is my favorite QB, but he makes me want to beat my head in with a sledgehammer sometimes. I would put him maybe top six or seven. Everyones lists, especially when it comes to football, is different because people have different formulas to come up with the best. Some have superbowl wins, some have stats, some have combination of both, some have clutch plays etc. etc.

I have learned that there are only three things in the popular sports in America that you cannot argue about.

1) Greatest Hockey Player=Wayne Gretzky
2) Greatest NBA Player=Michael Jordan
3) Greatest Wide Receiver=Jerry Rice

And sometimes people want to argue those as well.

Ok outside of the SB's, look at Aikmans career numbers and try to justify him for the Hall of Fame. There is a reason most of his team records have already been broken. Seriously not even 170 career TD's? Hell all you have to do is average a little over 20 TD's for 8 seasons to achieve that number, and Aaron Rodgers is almost half way there. I will say however, that Aikman was the best game manager in the NFL durring the time in which he played though.

There is a reason the Cowboys won those SB's in the 90's, and his initials are ES.

I believe they go by OL and "Defense".

As to the answer the topic question, could an argument be made that, at this point in his career, Donovan McNabb is overrated? I'm admittedly biased, and he certainly was a great quarterback earlier in his career (just show me that 14-second scramble again, lol), but at this point he's not nearly as mobile as he used to be and he's never had a great feel for the intermediate passing game. Plus, he lost to Tony Romo three times last year.

Again, my acute bias against the Redskins might be playing into my opinion, but I think the argument could most definitely be made against today's Donovan McNabb.
Donovan may not be what he used to be in terms of mobility, but you can't put those losses on him. Dallas was just the better team last year

I know this is outside the purview of this thread but the Gretzky=greatest in pro hockey thing isn't a complete slam dunk. At least not in Canada. Oh he is acknowledged as such but there are strong proponents for guys like Lemieux, Orr and, for the older guys, Howe.

Aside from that your point is well made.

Carry on

Except for that fact that Gretzky has more assists than anyone else has points, and oh yeah he also has the most goals ever too, not to mention all of the Stanley Cups that he won. Well except for all of that the nay-sayers may have a point.
