Their last SB year he had virtually no running game OR offensive line help, and he still won a SB in one of the most **** QB performances in history. His stat lines have been good too, aside from his accident year when he shouldn't have been playing anyways. Maybe not top 5 fantasy stats, which is why I think people view him as a "second tier" guy, which is silly.
this maybe hard for steeler some fans to understand , but many people consider him second teir because in his time in the league he's only had one year where he's thrown for more than 4000 yards , he usually doesn't have a high td stat, been up till last year averaged around 3300 -3500 yards a year. he's one superbowls by managing games. His maturity showed in the last superbowl and through out last season, but compared to his piers he is second teir.

Agreed.

LOL Regarding JaMarcus Russell, most Raider fans were ready to put him in over Josh McCown his rookie year. I still remember the sign: "JRuss Save Us! McClown Sit DOWN"

Re: Aaron Rodgers

Big Ben has the opposite problem that Rodgers, rivers and brees had for awhile. Ben has the wins and rings to be an top qb but lacks the stats that people want to see

I grasp that, but people said the same line about Brady during his highly successful era. "Oh Manning's better, he puts up the stats." but meanwhile, Brady was the one winning SB's. Then Brady gets Randy Moss and Wes Welker in an off season, and the Pats go to throwing the ball over running it, and Brady has arguably the greatest statistical season ever.

The Steelers system has never been that of throwing the ball. They play hard defense, and they run. Ben complimented that perfectly. But it's not like he's just a game manager. When he's had to throw for 300 yards, he has. He's more than shown he can put up the big yardage when he has to. But on the other hand, he wants to win the game. If that means running the ball, then that's what it means. He's one of the most crazy efficient QB's in the league.

The Packers don't run the ball. The Saints don't run the ball. The Pats don't run the ball. The Colts don't run the ball. Therefore, why shouldn't their QB's be putting up crazy stats?

Funny how someone said they'd take Rodgers over Ben "a million times over", as the one time they faced off, Ben put up 500 yards and won the game on a ridiculous last second throw.

Take your fantasy stats QB's. I'll gladly take the two SB's, and counting, I've watched us win.

Re: Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers is already an elite qb. I don't believe in winning playoff games that will come in time. The packers are one those teams I would go out my way and watch. Great offensive play calling and an attacking defense.

I remember few years ago when Bret got hurt in the cowboys game. Cowboys were shutting Green Bay down until Rodgers came in...even then his mobility/pocket awareness was good but for a young qb he was making better decisions than Bret. If he stays healthy the same way we are talking about Brady and Manny, we will talk about Rodgers.

This is what stand out to me about Rodgers he is a strong arm qb that is accurate. We usually see strong arm qbs you can stick them in a vertical passing system. We also see accurate qbs we can stick those guys in wco. I think one of the reason the packers passing game is so good that Rodgers allow them to play both vertical passing game and horizontal passing game. On top of that he throw a catchable ball with touch and add mobility.

Yeah, what I said a few months ago. Rodgers is a joy to watch.
