10. "I jump when I wanna jump."

Minnesota's final throw to the end zone on Sunday night validated the Patriots' decision to trade receiver Randy Moss.

Moss had a shot at jumping up and catching the pass. But, for whatever reason, he chose not to leap as high as he could. It's unclear whether he would have come down with the ball. We'll never know in part because he didn't try.

And so that familiar refrain has crept back into the conversation: "I play when I wanna play."

At the end of the first half, when the Vikings opted not to be aggressive but instead to let the clock expire, Moss apparently wanted to play, spreading his arms and making the internationally-recognized "what the ****?" face. With the game on the line, however, Moss opted not to go all out.

When the time comes to decide whether to sign Moss to an extension, that play should be remembered.

Moss can't get up like he used to back in the day so I wasn't surprised to see him not get up very high.

let's not blame this game on Moss now cause Brett's ankle is all kind of jacked. even if he would have jumped he would have gotten pushed out anyway.

I thought so too, but it did look like if he jumps as high as he could he might get a hand on it.

Granted Bishop probably would've just pushed him out if he jumped that high, but still.

You can judge for yourself here (play starts at the 6:13 mark, I believe):

Eh. It was a poorly thrown ball, and he was being hit while trying to catch it. There were three defenders in front of him. Not an easy catch by any means. I don't think it's fair to say "lack of effort" on that one, and I'd be the first guy to say that, since Moss has pissed me off with that crap in the past.

He wasn't going to catch that.
