C'mon. You don't play in as many 3rd down and longs as he has over his career and just be a "one-read" QB.

I actually think he might be better in a vertical, less precision based passing game anyway. Either way, he has two NFL skills (his arm strength and running ability) which I'm sure is more than Scott Tolzien or whoever Indy's backup is.

Worst case, he comes in and stinks it up...which is probably the outcome the Colts have now woth there current backup. Best case, he plays sparingly but when he does he lights it up (and you would have no controversy because the starter is Andrew Luck). Most likely case is that he comes in and is the same inconsistent Kaepernick which isn't good by any means but is decent enough and will make enough plays to maybe steal a game or two.

I'm not sure how to process this.

Um ya, actually you do. I'm not even sure if you're being serious.

What is there to process?

So are you saying...in 5 years in the Natiomal Football League...Colin Kaepernick has never scanned through a progression?

The only read he consistently scans for are running lanes. He's reading rushers much more than he's reading cornerbacks and safeties when a play starts.

That doesn't make any sense as Kehlis said. A one read QB would be expected to find himself in many 3rd and longs.

I'm also not sure how your last post relates to that.

Re: NFL Off Topic

Here is a link to a twitter thread by a guy who will say Kaepernick has made some improvements.

Haha didn't even think about it like that. That said, the "one-read" QB thing is just lazy. Why not just say he doesn't go through progressions very well? Even then, the guy can function in a NFL offense. I'm not sure why that's even debatable.
