What's Big Ben make? I'd say that's about as equal a peer as Flacco has. Only glaring difference is Roethlisberger has two rings.

If I were Baltimore, I'd franchise him. See how he does this season, and go from there...

Inflation. Paying for what you can't afford to lose. He deserves to get paid and you can argue how much that number should be, but in the end Baltimore would much rather pony up than take huge steps back to developing a young guy or bringing in someone less dependable or not quite capable of making the big plays.

I'm sure the contract will get back loaded to make room to sign some of the other guys who are gonna be FAs and the Ravens are good at getting top talent from the draft for considerably less than big name aging players in free agency.

I also just don't feel like this is gonna be a franchise tag kinda thing. The organization knew this was coming, that's why they waited until after this season to get back to negotiations. They're prepared to pay up.

Is Joe Flacco better right now than Carson Palmer, Sam Bradford, Mike Vick and Phillip Rivers? If so this is a no brainier for Baltimore, despite what some of you think of him.

Spoiler

Edit: For the record Brees' base salary jumps from $10.75 to $18.75 in 2015.

I feel bad for GB...Rodgers will name his price when his contract is up. 25MIL? When is his contract up?

Good through 2014.

His contract was signed in 2008. Six years, $65 million.

Numbers? Post season record? Outplaying Luck, Manning, Brady, and Kaepernick in 4 straight games?

Throw out the stats and realize that his playoff run was the most impressive of any QB in post season history*. Poor Joe. People don't want to give him credit even when they know he deserves it.

*show me a more impressive run.*

He was going to do that anyway. Don't know why it's implied that Joe getting a huge deal is going to jump Aaron's number.

LOL, maybe as a negotiation tool the owners will ask them have they ever touched Flacco's incredible 2012-2013 playoff run.
