Lmao. Completely different.

Interpreting the situation and how it will effect the outcome of the game is completely different than picking up the flag after a pass sails 20 yards out of bounds.

And for those of you saying that the ref "took the game into his own hands".... I'm sorry. I thought that guy on the patriots decided to take the game into his hands when he did something incredibly stupid.

It's one of those rules where if the defense does it, it's dangerous, but when the offense does it, it is exciting. Defense is bad, offense is good. The NFL wants to look like the Big 12.

That's my problem with the rule. It's stupid to only apply it to one situation when the same situation occurs throughout the game in every other facet of the game.

I'm not talking about how it will effect the outcome of the game though. 94 had no impact on that particular play, just like a guy committing a pass interference on an uncatchable pass had no impact on that particular play.

No it doesnt, completely different situation. I thought it was the old leverage rule but it's one of the two new rules added this year: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/m...ets-gme-102013

How is it any different from when there's a pile on a running play and a linemen comes in and pushes his teammates from behind into the pile to try to push the pile for an extra yard or two?

How many injuries as a result? That's why this was enacted, this and overloading a side and running over OL.

So to be clear you're advocating that as soon as there is a pile it shouldn't be moved? Blown dead and/or everyone else just has to watch?
