So while you're looking at numbers on a page how about this. The Bears had 2 rookie offensive linemen this year and Roberto Garza was the only lineman going into this year that was on the 53 man roster to start the 2012 season.. Don't think anybody was exactly expecting perfection out of them and even despite that, they still played damn well and significantly better than the trash we were trotting out there when Cutler was getting beat to a pulp. Feel free to talk Bears football with us, but if all your going to do is cherry pick numbers off a spreadsheet with no context or understanding of waht you're reading, then please keep your discussion on the Eagles or some other team.

As for tying up all our money on Jay, Phil Emery made it clear in the presser today that they had enough left to make the moves they feel need to be made and will exhaust all avenues to address the defense which is really the only side of the ball that needs to be addressed. Jennings and Slauson are already coming back so that's two less things to worry about. Slauson takes care of having to worry about another OL change. Jennings makes one less defensive move to make. I have faith in Phil to get things taken care of. They completely revamped that bag of vomit we had for an offense in a year and a half. Can they do the same to the defense? Not sure, but I certainly wouldn't bet against him.

Wasn't another factor for the lower sacks Cutler buying into a quicker release. Three yard steps and out goes the football vs Martz's seven yard drops. Plus, you have basketball type WR's who can go up and get the ball.

Re: 2014 Transactions Thread

The Cutler deal is NOWHERE near as bad as some people think.

It's basically a three year deal for $54 million. He can earn the rest through stellar play.

Yeah I take back what I said. Pretty good contract for Chicago.

Ravens will be fine too. I don't expect Flacco to have as bad of a year as this one in the future.

We need to fix the o-line, get another WR, and get some backups for the aging guys on our defense. Jacoby Jones is going to be an FA. He's valuable to the team but we shouldn't overpay for him. Ravens need to lock up Eugene Monroe, he's been a highlight this season on an otherwise mediocre OL. Hopefully Corey Graham and Daryl Smith get resigned. The Ravens must keep Dennis Pitta.

I'm not a Raiders fan, but I'm interested to see what they'll do with some cap room.

What has Flacco done to deserve his contract? Really, the Super Bowl argument gets really old when even Trent Dilfer has a ring lmfao
