Carney, Noronen, and Brown have been added to the canucks.

I love the Carney addition. With Jovo, Ohlund, and Salo injured, Carney has the chance to be the number 1 D-Man right now and slide back into the number 4 role once those guys return.

Noronen finally gives the Canucks a backup goaltender and he has upside. Hopefully he can blossom just like what Kipper did once he went to the Flames.

Brown is nothing more than a depth guy. I don't expect much from this guy.

The Devils trade a third-round pick to Islanders for Brad Lukowich
The Capitals trade Jeff Fresien to the Ducks for a 2nd round pick

- Cory Cross has just been traded to the Wings.

- Brendan Whitt has been traded to the Preds for a 1st round pick and Kris Beech. What a move by the Preds. Whitt is the kind of nasty blue liner you want especially come playoff time. Kris Beech has been a huge bust. He was the big name in the Jagr trade.

- The Sens picked up more offence getting Tyler Arnason.

- The Canucks have traded Steve McCarthy to the Thrashers. Good riddance to McCarthy. He was awful.

- Bruins traded Samsonov to the Oilers. Don't know what the Bruins got in return.

Sergei Samsanov has been traded to Edmonton. Don't have any other details.

Too bad, he was always one of my favorite players to watch with the way he handles the puck. It was obvious he was probably leaving after this year though and the way they've been playing since the Olympics, no way they're getting anywhere near the playoffs.

The Stars have just aquired Willie Mitchell and a 2nd round pick for Shawn Belle and Martin Skoula.

What a trade by the Stars. Mitchell is one of the most under-rated D-Men in the league. He's rock solid in his own end.

Sportsnet reports the Oilers gave up Marty Reasoner, a non roster player, and a draft pick for Samsonov.
