Re: NHL Trade Deadline

I wonder if it's possible to have MLSE offer Colangelo a little more money to become GM of the Leafs as well before Ferguson ends up signing Lindros and Allison to 5 year extensions.

Parrish and Sopel (NYI) for Tambellini and Grebeshkov (LA, both are prospects)

Re: NHL Trade Deadline

Ken Klee from the Toronto Maple Leafs has been traded. Not sure the details. Will update when I get some more info.

And we have another. Toronto trades defensemen Ken Klee to New Jersey for Alexander Suglobov

Whoa the trades are coming fast and furious, alot more than I thought, the Leafs trading Ken Klee (about time) to NJ for some Russian forward who hopefully is under 40. Guess they just opened up a roster spot for Richardson. These 2 trades make no sense when put together. Does this mean the Leafs are buyers or sellers? I don't think Ferguson knows.

Re: NHL Trade Deadline

Okay, shipping Klee out for a prospect is good, but the reason he goes is because now that Richardson is in the mix Klee becomes expendable!? "Hmmm, let's replace Klee with an even older guy who should have retired two years ago!"

Suglabov is a big steal for the Leafs though, especially for a guy who is 33 and going to be a UFA in the summer.

Re: NHL Trade Deadline

I like the Roloson trade, I thought it would be an eastern goalie or Cujo, not a deal within the division, but Rolosons pretty good and has a decent save percentage which is a good barometer of adjustment, showing he's made the transition to the new NHL quite well, unlike say Raycroft. But I'm glad they got it done now rather than tomorrow. If the Oil can get a Tyson Nash/Darcy Tucker/Dallas Drake type guy for the 4th line now (and who knows, maybe a second line scorer) they'll be set.

Pronger-Smith-Staios-Spacek-Tarnstrom-Ulanov/Greene (Matt Greene is a fantastic rookie defenceman) in front of Roloson. This is a solid back end.

I disagree with SPTO that Colorado is taking a risk dealing for Theo, I think its the other way around. Having watched Aebischer for years now, he's pretty average and will never be that top tier goalie in my opinion. Theodore has had a rough season alright, but he's a Vezina winner and if he bounces back will be far better than Aebischer. Montreal could have gotten more for Theo in the offseason when he was healthy, I'm confused why they made this deal now.
