Re: Differences in crowds at different arenas

The Coyotes actually had GOOD attendance tonight, to bad those fans had to watch them get killed by the Wings. It looked like a sell out, if it was, it would be the first time in like 8 years or whatever that the Coyotes got a sell out.

Yeah I believe you, but that is with any sport. When San Jose had a real good Arena football team they got people to go to it. It happens, if you are good people will come.

God forbid people at the game have a good time.

Not sure it's fair to pile on Pheonix fans. You don't just drop a hockey team into a non-traditional market (the middle of the desert, at that) and expect a loyal fanbase to just sprout without much of any winning to get behind. Even more the case when most of that team's existence was during the plodding dead puck era, which wasn't going to attract anybody to hockey. Avs fans inherited a ready-made Cup contender from Quebec.

To be honest I haven't been to too many different buildings. I have seen games at Staples Center and the Forum for Kings games, the Pond for Ducks games, Mellon for Pens games, and Bank Atlantic for Panthers games. I won't make any claims about the fans, but I will say that Mellon Arena without a doubt has the best music of any of those buildings. Tons of Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Guns n' Roses, Judas Priest....all kinds of kickass tunes. Nothing like hearing The Hellion just before a faceoff.

Well I was at both Game 1 and Game 2, and i dont know what the heck you guys are talking about. I've been a fan for this team since i can remember. I guess its different when youre at the game then watching the game on tv. Whenever the coyotes got the puch, the crowd would stand up. Got kinda annoying. I just wanted to watch the game. Every hit they cheered loud and stood up. What more do you guys want? Someone to go streaking on the ice?
