I race on the expert setting. 2017 is the first F1 game I have played since the PS2/Xbox era. I find that on expert, I'm occasionally able to win on certain tracks which suit me, but more often I'm fighting to stay in the points or to get a top 5 or whatever. It's a challenging, competitive level for me. I don't want to be able to win easily on every track, but I don't want to be bringing up the rear either.

Can we pick any of the Teams to drive for? or limited? Like to drive Ferrari or Mercedes.

It's been a while since I began my season, but if I recall, you get a handful of middle of the road teams to choose from at first. And if you do well, after about 5 or 6 races, the bigger teams will offer you a seat. I began the season with Haas, but now I'm with Ferrari.

I should note that established drivers cannot race for another team in the game. So if you take Louis Hamilton's seat for instance, he can't turn around and drive for Red Bull. His season will simply come to an end.

And to build on this, higher tiers have higher performance expectations of you, right from the start.

Thanks Lt.Dan, This is important to know, so will probably start career on a lower Ferrari Team. Can you tell A noticeable difference in teams? Like the better teams have better equipment from start? So If I do pick top Ferrari Team, and pick Vettel as my teammate, I will be expected right away to perform? But at same time starting with better equipment and R&D?

Yes to all of your questions.

I recommend checking out time trial mode. I use that to practice the tracks prior to race weekend so I don't put any extra wear on my engine, but using different cars on same track in that mode will illustrate the difference in the cars. I use Haas in my career, and practiced Silverstone last night, then for fun switched to the Ferrari car and was 2 or 3 seconds faster.

Yes, every team is noticeably different. Teams are rated by their chassis performance, their aero performance, and their engine performance. For instance, Mercedes has the top engine, Ferrari has the top chassis, and Red Bull has the top-rated aero package. Certain teams will perform better at certain tracks. High-speed circuits with long straights will usually be dominated by Mercedes, while your tracks with lots of tight corners will see Ferarri dominate and Red Bull will give Mercedes a run for their money.
