Re: Franchise House Rules

1. Only trade for players from "rebuilding" teams and who have either 6+ years of service time, be a rental, cash dump or are in arb and would demand a decent salary. Way too easy to fleece the AI in...

Re: MLB The Show 21 Predictions - Where Do the Graphical Improvements Show Up?

Graphical improvements would be the bare minimum change in my opinion. But judging by new releases from the other "big sports franchises" the show 21 will simply be updated graphics and more focus on...

Re: Hitting camera

I've been using fisheye for as long as I can remember, also done some experimenting with strike zone in the past and can see it being helpful.

Re: MLB The Show 20 Impressions Thread

Just picked up 20 so figured I'd add my .02 incase anyone comes wandering in.

I go back to 14 (switched over from 2k) and have played a fair bit of every release since then. In terms of gameplay,...

Franchise draft classes/player retirement/free agency question

I have to start off with a nice little brag, been playing franchise mode in The Show and OOTP for years but I finally drafted a player who broke the HR record. Not even remotely possible in previous...

Re: MLB The Show 18 Cover Athlete is Aaron Judge, Releases 3-27, Pre-Order 4 Days Ear

No surprise they went with Judge imo. Young guy, huge star power, #1 market etc., I wouldn't be surprised if we see boosted sales of 18 compared to previous versions. Griffey, Donaldson, Puig,...

Re: Franchise Analytics

How are you guys calculating some of theses advanced stats? I keep a running spreadsheet for one of my super involved franchises and keep track of everything the game allows me to see and calculate. ...

Re: Franchise budget?

The only problems I see with the new budget system is no AI team ever seems to have any budget space during the season making trades extremely difficult. This issue has been around for a while I...

Re: Is Diamond Dynasty going to kill franchise mode?

Well considering SDS only has 1 dev working on franchise mode, the mode hasn't changed in years and there have been a litany of problems with it for a while... I would say it is already dead or at...

Re: Devs can you please use Statcast new sprint speed for 18?

Those statcast numbers are a little misleading, you have some tall guys like Bellinger and Bryant at 28ish ft/sec, roughly the same top speed as Altuve and Trout. Statcast is measuring their fastest...

Re: What things still need fixed in franchise that haven't been fixed with the patche

I think we could all rattle of dozens of aspects of franchise mode that need to be "fixed" and have needed to be "fixed" for multiple game generations.

Re: 6 man pitching rotation

I do this all the time when I have one or two pitching prospects who look ready, rotate them between LRP and the rotation and see who performs. I have never seem any non closer win reliever of the...

Re: Player progression, or lack thereof.

I think the progression model for this year has been one of the few good improvements (or lack of improvements) I see a lot of players still producing late into their 30s, or actually get better in...

Re: Salary Cap Franchise

Yeah just eating a portion of a contract, trading a guy like Cabrera or Verlander for example, the Tiger would most likely have to pay at least half of his remaining contract just for his new team to...

Re: Salary Cap Franchise

If you going to keep a spreadsheet I would seriously look into implementing some kind of salary retention. You would obviously have to keep track of it yourself but it's the kind of thing that...

Re: Offline franchise

It all depends on how you scout, personally I ignore pitchers and scout any position players with a contact grade of 70+ then draft based on a combo of contact and potential. Once all the worth while...

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

Orioles, Tigers, Mariners, Blue Jays, Giants, Marlins, Dbacks, Rockies... you just never know with these teams, they could contend or fall flat, roll of the dice. Trade what little prospects they...

Re: Question about vision

Back in 13 or 14 I simulated a few seasons in franchise and edited batters contact, vision and discipline to see what they all do.

99 contact with 0 vision and 0 discipline had an average batting...

Re: Salary Cap Franchise

Ah I didn't even think about teams being over the cap to begin with haha. It would take a lot of trading to get everyone under a 150-175M cap before you play even one season... I think I have talked...

Re: Pitcher Rating Splits: Why are they still missing?

This one of a few aspects of baseball that I think the 2K series did better than The Show.

No pitcher rating splits makes batter handedness pointless.
