Re: Under New Managment: A Crimson Hose Dynasty

Well guys, it's finally here! Opening Day 2014! Time for Fenway Franks, packed Yawkey Way, and Bostonians to be happy. We are ready to show off our new guys as we signed alot of big names. Johnson and Zobrist are both signees, and we did get Storen and Gattis via trade. Well, it's time to see how the game went!

After the ceremonies finished up, Buchholz and the boys took the diamond with a very loud applause from the Boston crowd. David Ortiz would start the year off on a high note with a RBI single that would drive in Jackie Bradley. Victorino would be driven in by WMB to take a 2-0 lead.

Pedroia would score on a Ben Zobrist hit, Zobrist's first hit and a Red Sox uni! Gattis would also get his first hit in a Sox uni, but it was bigger. He would drive in Ortiz and WMB. 5-0 in the 3rd. That would spell the end for Chen as he lasts just 3 innings on 5 earned runs.

In the fourth, Ortiz would drive in JBJ for his second RBI of the game. WMB would drive in Victorino to make it 7-0 in the 4th.

But the Orioles would finally score in the 6th thanks to a Manny Machado solo HR. Davis would score on a Nolan Riemold single up the line to make it 7-2.

Buchholz would stay in for 1 more out until Farrell finally took him out to replace him with hard throwing righty Danial Bard, who had a stellar spring this season.

Not bad stats for your first game of the season! He would've allowed no runs if only he could've held back from the homer and RBI. Gattis would score one last time in the 8th on a wild pitch. Uehara would come in the ninth and retire the side 1-2-3 for the opening day win! 8-2 final

Note: Unrelated to the game, A-Roid out for 2-3 months with Fractured Hand.

Hmmm. Apparently he met up with Cashman in person.

Second user game of the new year. A classic Sox v.s. Sox matchup. Josh Johnson will make his dynasty debut here tonight as he goes toe-to-toe on the rubber with Jake Peavy in Chicago.

It would take until the late 3rd for a hit to be made by either side in this one. The Chi Sox would get a hit off of Tyler Flowers. But the Red hose would score first in the 5th off of a Ross hit that would score the former White Sock Rios. Ortiz would complement that in the 6th with a solo bomb. 2-0.

But the Pale ones weould answer back in the bottom of the 6th on a De Aza hit that would score Flowers. Johnson would be pulled 3 outs later in the 7th. He would finish with only allowing 5 hits on 1 run (earned) with 6 Ks.

Now to the eight with Rule 5 Draftee Josh Osich. Luke Scot would drive in De Aza to tie it up. Osich has really struggled since being drafted appearing in 3.1 innings and allowing 3 runs. We are considering moving him back to San Fran and paying the fine.

We would score nothing in the top half of the ninth, so let's go to the bottom. Chris Perez is on the bump trying to keep it tied,

That was Dewayne Wise's view of Gordan Beckham's walk-off gapper. Perez get nailed with the L. That is why we went out and got Storen. We can't trust NOBODY in the 'pen to take it over. 3-2 Final.

Jays and Sox now going at it. Romero is going up for the Jays, while Felix Doubront makes his 2014 user debut. Let's get started now!

Brett Lawrie would score in the 2nd on a Doubront wild pitch to take the early 1-0 lead. Bogaerts would answer in the bottom half with a sac fly that would score WMB to tie it 1 even. But in the third, Jose Bautista would drive in two on a single up the middle to make it 3-1. Edwin Encarnacion would add on thanks to a 2 run homer.

He would allow 5 and be replaced by Daniel Bard. Bard would let Doubront's responsibility, Laawrie, score to make it 6-1. Not looking to good for us.

Man, It takes alot for a player in New England to get a nickname. When you do, you know you did something. Big Papi is one of the most recognizable nicknames and sports, and you know who we're talking about when we say that name. Veteran Red Soxer David Ortiz! Ortiz would be our slimmer of hope, as he would hit a two run bomb in the 6th. But that wouldn't be it. He would blast another two-run bomb in the 8th.

Heading into the bottom of the ninth, it was still 6-5, the first two outs would come easy for Janssen, then Alex Rios stepped up in the 9th with 2 out to replace David Ross. 3 pitches later...

Red Sox at the Rays at Tampa Field (a.k.a. Sun Life Stadium) Jeff Niemann and Allen Webster will both take the hill for their teams. As you see above, We are looking good so far in the last user-played game this month. First in HR, AVG., and RBIs. But our pitching is not up to par. We'll see if this can keep up.

Let's get started. Will Middlebrooks scored on a Ben Zobrist hit in the first. Speaking of Zobrist, this is his first series against his long-time team. Ortiz would add to that in the 3rd as he drove in Jackie Bradley. Later that inning, top player Dustin Pedroia would be able to score on a dropped third strike. 3-0.

In the 5th, the Rays would finally tally a run. Yunel Escobar would score Jennings on a double. Later, Escobar would be driven in by Profar to make it 3-2. That would spell the end of the night for Webster as he is responsable for Profar on second. But Osich wouldn't let him score and would end the 5th.

But the Sox wouldn't stay quiet. Pedroia drove in top prospect Xander Bogaerts to make it 4-2 in the seventh. In the 8th, Joyce would drive in Longoria to make it 4-3.

Now in the bottom of the ninth, still 4-3 and Drew Storen makes his first user appearance. Kelly Johnson leads off and gets a double. Escobar would get him to second on a bunt, but he would get out. Ryan Roberts would pinch hit for Josh Lobaton, but would ground out to third to make 2 outs with tying run on second. Profar is up now, annnnd

Spoiler

We finally get a user win. We haven't had one since Opening Day. Hopefully more to come!
