Tovarich: Luckily we went on that nice run in the middle. That was a one score game it felt like into the low 30's, then we blew up right before halftime and the first few minutes of the second half. The backups struggled, so they made that look closer than it was there at the end. Rough night for many of them. Troy in the final, just as you'd expect. They feel like the second best team.
Reporter: 17 turnovers forced without pressing, are you pleased with that?
Tovarich: Yeah, we got in the passing lanes, and deflected a lot of passes. They often go right back to the offense, but tonight a lot of those went to us.
Reporter: Shehan has really taken off with the scoring lately, can he keep that up and is that now more of a plan on offense than just shooting 3's all the time?
Tovarich: He's doing what you expect him to do. I don't know why he can't do it more. He's the 2nd highest rated C in the conference and many teams don't even have a true C, so he ought to do a lot down low. I wish he could rebound better. Petrauskas is superior at that for sure, but Shehan can score most of the time. Every other big guy was brutal tonight though.
Reporter: What kind of intensity do you expect tomorrow knowing you're likely a 1 seed no matter what happens?
Tovarich: It's still a trophy to collect. It's still something to win. Lunardi had us as the overall 1 seed before Marquette went and beat 2 losing teams in Cincy and Seton Hall...

Tovarich: Been a while since we played an NBA team. I guess we were due for one. I can only laugh at all the absurdity that I just watched.
Reporter: Is it better to get a bad game like that out of the way before the NCAA tournament?
Tovarich: Yeah, maybe, but there's no reason it can't happen again in a game or two.
Reporter: What do you think you could have done differently?
Tovarich: Nothing. We played good defense. We contested the shots well. It made no difference. We were open for 3's. We missed them all. The rebounds clang to them like they had magnets. We were in position for them. We forced turnovers. They ultimately just shot out of their minds and we were unable to make a shot from anywhere really. This team can overcome a lot of things going against us and has, but there are limits.
Reporter: Do you still expect to get a 1 seed?
Tovarich: I have no idea.
Reporter: Are there any positives?
Tovarich: Riley broke the press relatively well. Lewis hit both his shots. My assistants stopped me from breaking any clipboards.

Tovarich: I guess I'm supposed to be happy we won, but that was a hideous second half. Getting outrebounded by a 16 seed by 11 is embarrassing. The refs thought they needed help I guess. Much like last year's 1st round, nothing about that is encouraging.
Reporter: A re-match with Georgia Tech. How do you feel about that?
Tovarich: We beat them rather handily, but on paper, we're the underdog just like the 2nd round last year. I somehow doubt we'll win by 16 again. If we play like we did today, we'll lose like we did to Troy.
Reporter: Why do you feel the team is struggling all of a sudden?
Tovarich: I wish I knew. Maybe we'll magically snap out of our funk in 2 days.
