Knick-ed: 'Melo, Amare are too much, 76ers fall 112-103
By Jaggo Smorts

Never has there been two cities with such complete hatred of one another like New York and Philadelphia. The cities don't like each other, the players don't like each other, the fans don't like each other. No matter what sports it is, bet your bottom dollar that Philadelphia and New York fans are bickering at each other over it.

The New York fans will have a little more ammunition after last night's 113-102 win by the Knicks over the Philadelphia 76ers.

It was the first meeting between the two teams this season, and the stars on each side shined very bright last night at the Wells Fargo Center. Carmelo Anthony poured in 39 PTS and grabbed 8 REB, while his sidekick Amare Stoudemire added 20 PTS and 6 REB. On the other side, Jrue Holiday scored a career-high 33 PTS and dished out 6 AST, but it wasn't nearly enough to combat the Knicks offensive attack.

If this game is any indication, this rivalry may just be ready to take the forefront once again.

|| INTERACTIVE SITUATION #2 ||

SPENCER HAWES WANTS TO TALK

Situation:
You are GM Rod Thorn of the Philadelphia 76ers and Spencer Hawes has requested a meeting to discuss his role with the team.

Known Information:
It has been three weeks now since Coach Doug Collins decided to replace Spencer Hawes in starting lineup with Lavoy Allen. Since that time Hawes has not been terrible, averaging 8.8 PTS and 4.2 REB off the bench. Meanwhile, Lavoy Allen has averaged 3.9 PTS and 3.8 REB per game, all while providing a spark for the defensive side of the ball.

Meeting:

Spencer Hawes: "Hello Mr. Thorn, thank you for taking this meeting with me."

Rod Thorn: "Oh no problem son, you're a part of the Sixers family just as I am. So what can I do for you?"

Spencer Hawes: "Well Mr. Thorn, This past off-season I decided to re-sign here in Philadelphia."

Rod Thorn: "Yes, I'm well aware of the Spencer." (Laughs)

Spencer Hawes: "Of course, but we did discuss my role in the future of the team and there were some things that we agreed upon that I don't feel are being held up on the court."

Rod Thorn: "Alright Spencer, spit it out now. What's bothering you?"

Spencer Hawes: "I just feel like I should be getting more time out there on the court Thorn. I'm producing well enough, in my mind, to warrant the consideration. What do you think?"

Make The Decision:

A. I understand Spencer, and I will talk to Doug about working you in to the rotation as much as he can without disrupting the team's current success.
(+4 MIN in Rotation)

B. This is what Coach Collins wants Spencer. My job is to put the players on the roster, it's up to him to play you guys as he sees fit.
(No Change to MIN)

C. You're right Spencer, You're production off the bench shouldn't go un-noticed. I'm going to let Coach Collins know that I want you back at the starting Power Forward position.
(+8 MIN, Replaces Lavoy Allen)

D. Spencer, I see where you're coming from, but I don't want to stunt the growth of Lavoy. I'm going to let Coach Collins know that I want you back in the starting lineup somehow.
(+6 MIN, Replaces Kwame)
