Trying to make it interesting. This team is very fun to use, it will be fun to develop. My next game was one of my best ever in NBA2K. Wont provide any more spolier than that though. Thanks for reading.

Magic Beat Thunder in a Thriller

stats.jpg

The Thunder shoot 57% from the field, and we can only manage 41, but somehow we stayed within 3 at the end of the first quarter. Hezonja and Oladipo both had really strong quarters combing for 15 of out points. Westbrook got off to a quick start with 7 and McGary took advantage of the attention the stars drew and got 6. Durant only got 4 points on 1-5 from the field. We stepped up big time in the second we put up 27 points on 57% from the field and 8-11 from the line. Our defense stepped up forcing 4 turnvoers and holding the Thunder to 38%, we went into the half with a 4 point lead. Mario stayed hot and finished the half with 16. Nikola had 8 points and 10 rebounds in the half. For the Thunder Westbrook(4-11 for 10 points) and KD(3-11 for 8 points) have been held in check. We played even for much of the third quarter. KD picked up his forth foul and Westbrook was getting a rest. We took advantage as Mario scored 9 straight points(25 points though 3) and we had our biggest lead at 74-68. They bought back in Durant despite 4 fouls. The Thunder answered with a 10-0 run to take a 4 point lead. We finally scored as Watson hit a corner three at the buzzer and the Thunder had a one point lead going into the forth. KD(6 points) Adams(7 points) and Westbrook(9 points) lead the Thunder in the quarter. Fournier(5) and Mario(9) led us. The Thunder continued their momentum early in the forth, Russ hit a three to put them up 5. Oladipo scored 7 straight to lead us on a run to tie it. Westbrook hit another three to put them up 3. We answer with a 9-0 run to go up 6, thanks to our defense forcing turnovers. KD and Russ both hit shots to cut our lead to 1. Westbrook spilt free throws with a chance to tie with 1:51 left. We went back up by 3 on a dunk by Nikola with 1:22 left. Ibaka and Westbrook hit layups with a stop inbetween to give the Thunder a 1 point lead with 53 seconds left. Ibaka fouled Nikola with 2 seconds left in the shot clock to bail us out of a bad posseign. Nikola hit ½ to tie the game. We play a great defense, and force Ibaka to miss a tough shot as the clock expired, we got the ball back with 10 seconds left and called a timeout. Oladipo was trying to create out of a pick and roll and got stripped. KD was running the floor with the clock running down, he hit Ibaka cutting to the rim who got a layup off as the clock expired, but it rolled off the rim and this classic game was going to overtime. We traded the first four baskets of overtime. Then KD scored to put the Thunder up. They got a stop and Westbrook was fouled cutting to the rim. He missed the second free throw to keep the Magic within one score. Harris got his third basket of overtime to cut it to one. KD drove and got a dunk to make the lead 3 with 56 seconds left. We traded stops. We had a chance down three with under 30 seconds left. We struggled to get a look. Payton had no where to go so he passed it Oladipo at the top of the key. Harris set a screen to take Westbrook out of the play. This created a little space so he pulled up for three Durant tried to jump to contest, but it was too late, Victor got the shot off, it bounced around the rim and fell in to tie the game and the crowd went nuts. The Thunder advanced the ball with a timeout. Ibaka made a bad pass on the inbound that went out of bounce, it was turnover and Magic ball with 16 seconds left. We dribbled down the clock, with 6 seconds left we gave it to Nikola in the low post, he had a one on one with Kanter. He backed him down, and fired up a hook shot over the overextended arms of Kanter, ht got the soft bounce and the ball went in with 0.2 seconds left. Again, the crowd exploded. With 0 timeouts left the Thunder couldn't get a shot off and we win an amazing game!!!!!!!!!!!

Player of the Game: Vucevic 19 points 15 rebounds 3 assists 3 steals 1 block 7-13 FG, Game winning shot!

Reaction: This was a great game for our team. Our effort on defense was great. We forced tons of turnovers. Westbrook got his, but we held Durant in check. Our young stoppers were not afraid and did not back down from the stars. Oladipo, Watson, Gordon, and Payton all stayed on either KD or Westbrook all game, and held their ground well. Our offensive attack was balanced. Mario showed his potential as a great scorer in this league and Oladipo and Nikola hit the huge shots. This is the type of early game that can make a team come together.

Chris Paul is out 4-6 weeks with knee tendintis
Wade puts up 24 points 6 rebounds, 9 asissts and 3 blocks as the Heat beat the Thunder by 15.

Magic Compete, Fall Apart in Forth Quarter vs Bulls

bulls box score.jpg

Both teams had pretty solid quarters we scored 24 points on 48% and they scored 25 on 44% shooting. Our struggles from downtown(1-7) is why we are down. CJ Watson already set his season high with 8. Nikola(6) and Gordon(5) also played well. Mirotic lead the Bulls with 8 points on 3-3 from the field(2-2 from three.) Both teams shot identical 39% from the field in a tight second quarter. The Bulls had a slight two point edge at half. Mirotic added 7 more in the second to give him 15 in the half. Rose had 8 in the half but only shot 4-12. Gordon and Vuc lead us with 9 each. We have a big third quarter scoring 31 on 48% from the field and the Bulls only shot 38%, but managed to put up 26 to keep with three points going into the forth. Oladipo(6 points), Harris(10 points) and Gordon(10 points)all had big quarters. Mirotic lead the Bulls again with 6 points. Snell also scored 6 in the quarter. We got outclassed in the forth quarter. They scored 34 points on 48% from the field, hit 3-6 from three and got to the line 10 times. Our numbers end up not looking too bad scoring 27 points, but that was from a garbage time push toward the end that meant nothing, because the Bulls had opened up a 10 point lead. Butler(8 points), Rose(7 points), and Snell(6 points) had big quarters. I can only imagine how bad it might have been if Mirotic even played in the forth quarter. Fournier got hot toward the end and scored 10 in the quarter, but it was too little too late as we fall to 2-1.

Player of the Game: Mirotic 21 points 8-11 FG 3-5 3PT 3 rebounds 1 steal

Injury Update: Elfrid Payton left the game with two minutes left with a bruised sternum, he is expected to play in our next game.

Stats:
stats vs bulls.jpg

bulls stats.jpg

Reaction: We played pretty good offense through 3 quarters, but the Bulls showed they were an established team and we are not as they locked it us down in the forth including forcing 7 forth quarter turnovers. Our backcourt played strong defense as Rose was only 9-29 from the field and Butler was held in check. They took advantage of our weakness on defense in the frontcourt, resulting in a lot of free throws and a big game for Mirotic. We lost to a better team, hopefully we can improve as the year goes on.

Around the league:
Manu(23 points 5 rebounds 6 assists), LA(24 points 11 rebounds), and Leonard(23 points 10 rebounds) lead the 3-0 Spurs over the 0-3 Celtics. The Spurs also beat the Knicks despite 40 from Melo to improve to 4-0
29 points and 18 rebounds from Dwight is not enough as Bosh(26 points 14 rebounds) and the Heat beat the Rockets
The Thunder bounce back to blow out the Nuggets(outscored them 34-8 in the first quarter!!). KD had 27 points 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Westbrook had 23 points 7 rebounds, and 20 assists.
The Bucks get an impressive 104-99 win over the Raptors to improve to 3-0. MCW lead the way with 23. They got to 4-0 by beating the Nets behind 24 points and 20 rebounds for Monroe.
Okafor(24+ points and 11+ rebounds in each of his first three games) contiuens to dominate as the 76ers stun the Cavs.
The Rockets bounced back by beating the Thunder 104-99 behind 26 from Motiejunas
Al Jefferson will miss 1-2 months with a torn hamstring
Joe Johnson will miss 6-8 weeks with a ankle sprain
Raptors lose Valanciunas for 1-2 weeks with a neck strain
Knicks lose Seraphin for 1-2 weeks

Next up: @ Pelicans(0-3)

Re: We Have the Magic-Orlando Magic 2k16

Gordon, AD Too Much for Magic to Handle

pelicans boxscore.jpg

Both teams traded baskets to start the game. We were up 11-9 before they went on a 8-0 run. We answered with a 9-0 run to get back in the game. The score remained with one possession after the first with us holding a 1 point edge at the end. AD went off for 11 points and 7 rebounds(4 offensive). Gordon also played well with 8. Fournier continued his strong play from yesterday's forth quarter leading us with 8. The Pelicans did not shoot great in the second(43%) They got 27 points thanks to getting 5 offensive rebounds and not turning the ball over. We only scored 8, we turned it over 5 times and only went 1-7 from three. Gordon had a huge quarter putting up 12 points. Mario(6 points) and Harris 5 lead the way for us. They had a 8 point lead at the half. We played a solid quarter, both by our starters and our little bit different second unit(see recap for detail). We shot 50%(4-7 from three) and hold them to 43% shooting. We get killed by the fact we shot an awful 2-9 from the line in the quarter. Mario(8 in the quarter, 17 in the game) hit a three with one second left to cut the lead down to three heading to the forth. Fournier and Mario are the only guys in double digits(17 each) for us. Gordon(26) and AD(19 points 12 rebounds) are the only guys for the Pelicans. Both teams played well at the start of the quarter. Payton's layup made the score 81-77 Pelicans with 9:39 left. Less than a minute later the Pelicans went on a 6-0 run to take a 10 point lead with 8 minutes left. Coach Skiles decided to shake up the starting lineup(which was in the game for a while at that point). He replaced Oladipo and Fournier with Mario and Gordon looking for energy. It quickly paid off as they each scored a bucket to cut it down to 6. We traded hoops until Holliday hit a three with 4:16 left to put the lead back up to 9. We fought back and cut it to three on a Vucevic jumper with 1:31 left. Two missed open threes by Holliday and two missed free throws by Gordon opened the door. We traded stops again as Mario missed a open three to tie it. With 35 seconds left and still down three. Nikola got a great look but missed a layup, but got his own rebound. He made a move, had another open layup, but missed that. We responded with another stop, Mario had a corner three to tie it, but he missed the shot. We fouled Gordon and he hit one free throw to put it out of reach, as we fall to 2-2.

Player of the Game: Eric Gordon 37 points 7 rebounds 2 assists 15-26 FG, 2-5 3PT

Stats:
stats vs pelicans.jpg

Pelicans stats.jpg

Reaction:
We played pretty well on both ends. We held Jrue in check, but got beat by only Gordon and AD basically. We showed great fight in the end, but a lack of half court execution and turnovers down the stretch continue to be an issue. We need more from Victor and Tobias on offense moving forwad. Mario and Gordon continue to show flashes off the bench, and as they showed down the stretch, they may be in line for more and more time. All in all 2-2 with the we have played is about all we could have asked for. Rotation wise coach replaced Dedmon with Jason Smith midway through the second quarter and he was the backup center in the second half. Smith had 4 points and 2 rebounds, but looked bad on defense, so the backup center spot remains a question mark. Coach also took an extended look at Napier, who dished out 6 assists in 13 minutes and played solid despite not scoring.

Around the League:
Reggie Jackson(25 points 6 rebounds 10 assists 4 steals) leads the Pistons over the Pacers
30 points 7 rebounds and 6 assists from Dragic leads the Heat over the Hornets
26 from Gay leads the Kings over Memphis
25 from Mudiay lead the Nuggets over the Lakers

Next up: @ Rockets(2-2)

Re: We Have the Magic-Orlando Magic 2k16

Magic Bounce Back, Dominate Rockets

game stats.jpg

We have our best first quarter and maybe overall quarter of the year we outscored them 30-20. We shot 64% from the field and destroyed them with a crazy 26 points in the paint. Lawson(6) and Brewer(5) were the only Rockets to play well early on. Gordon(10 points) and Nikola(7 points) combined to go 8-8 from the field and dominated the paint as roll men and on lobs(Gordon). Payton had his best quarter of the season with 4 points and 3 assists. Our offense kept on rolling putting up 31 in the second giving 61 in the first half. We only shot 43% from the field, but went 5-10 from three and 6-6 from the line. The Rockets hung around because they got hot from outside toward the end of the period(4-8 from three in the quarter) to hold our lead to 12 at half. Napier(6 points) and Harris(12 points) lead us in the quarter. Harris(14) Gordon(12), and Nikola(11) are all in double digits. Brewer was a huge reason Houston hung around as he shot 3-3 from three and scored 11. We came out pretty good early in the third and opened it up to 14. The Rockets went on a run and cut it down to 4 with 4 minutes left, as they thrived against our bench unit. We responded with a 7-0 run to open it back up to 11. The Rockets had a burst to get within 7, but Mario hit a midrange shot at the buzzer to put us up 9 going into the forth. Lately we have played bad in the forth, but they never got close today. This time we played well in the forth as we put the game away by going up by 15 with 3 minutes left and then we bought in the garbage time lineup to finish up an impressive win.

Player of the Game: Nikola Vucevic 15 points 12 rebounds 1 block 7-7 FG

Stats:
magic stats.jpg

rockets stats.jpg

Reaction:
Our best allaround game of the year, as we got off to a hot start and held off their run. Oladipo did a great job holding Harden in check, which was essential to our win. A turning point was when Smith playing the backup center was pulled for Dedmon. Smith was doing nothing on offense, and getting destroyed on the glass. Dedmon came in and got 7 rebounds in 8 mintues and locked down the paint, for now regaining the backup center spot back. Nikola and Gordon keep on playing well shooting very efficiently. It was nice to see Tobias getting his shot going. Napier had a strong showing getting 12 points and 5 assists, as he is trying to push himself into the rotation. Finally it was nice to see Payton get into double digits(11 points) and he hit 4-6 of his shots. Very nice win against a good team, something to build on.

Around the League:
24 from Duncan leads the 5-0 Spurs over the 0-4 Wizards
27 from Teague leads the 3-3 Hawks over the 0-5 Nets
Porzingis put up 23 and Melo put up 30, but the Cavs still beat the Knicks
Okafor goes for 25 and 10 again, but it's not enough as 26 from Mayo leads the 5-0 Bucks to a win
Lillard gets 36 points 9 rebounds and 10 assists as the Blazers are now 4-1 after beating the Jazz, they got 28 from Kaman and 26 points 5 rebounds 12 assists and 5 steals from Lillard as they beat Memphis the next night and are now a surprising 5-1
Bulls get their fifth win a row behind 23 from Butler as they beat the Thunder
Batum stuffed the stat sheet(33 points 6 rebounds 12 assists 4 steals 2 blocks) and the Hornets beat Dirk(30 points) and the Mavs
Bulls lose Brooks for 1-2 weeks

Next up: Vs Raptors(2-3)

Re: We Have the Magic-Orlando Magic 2k16

Harris Leads Magic Over Raptors

box.jpg

We played a pretty even first quarter, we make up the shooting difference(48 % to 44%). by getting to the line 10 times and making 7. They got the edge on a late 3 point play by DeRozan to take a two point lead going into the second thanks to crazy volume scoring by DeRozan(13 points) on 6-11 from the field. Patterson scored 4 and got 5 rebounds and no other Raptor had more than two. Only four of our players scored(Nikola 8, Harris 6, Oladipo 6, and Mario 3). We have a big second quarter scoring 27 points on 56% from the field and 6-10 from the line to take a 6 point lead into half. The Raptors shot 47% but didn't make a free throw and only put up 19 points in the quarter. Nikola, Harris, and Oladipo were all in double digits for us. Payton had 4 points 5 rebounds 5 assists and 2 steals for the half. For the Raptors DeRozan(17) and Lowry(9) dominated the scoring. We turned the ball over 7 times in the third qurter and struggled from three(2-7). The Raptors clawed away at our lead the entire quarter and finally took the lead on a Lowry three with 11 seconds left. The Raptors put up 29 points in the quarter on 52% from the field. Lowry scored 12 in the quarter to give him 21 for the game. We opened up the forth on a 9-0 run lead by Payton's energy on both offense and defense. They bounced back and cut our lead to 1 to 6 minutes left. We opened it back up to 6 on a Fournier layup in transition, but Biyombo got a put back and DeRozan hit a three to cut it to 1 again. A key sequence came with just under 2 mintues left in a 2 point game. Oladipo missed a open three at the top of the key. They ran back, but we played strong defense and got the stop. Payton got the rebound and pushed, he hit Oladipo trailing for a open top of the key in the same spot and he missed again. Harris got the offense rebound and kicked it back out to him and from almost the same spot, he finally hit it to put us up 5. Their next possession DeRozan was isolating on Oladipo. Victor stripped the ball, stole it, and got a transition dunk to put the game away as we were up by 7 with one minute left. No end of the game drama happened this time. We scored 34 points in the fourth on 55% from the field and 8-10 from the line. They shot 45%, but we forced 7 turnovers in the quarter as Payton and Victor harassed their ball handlers. Harris scored 14 in the quarter as we abused the matchup he had with Scola. He could not stay in front of him resulting in tons of free throws and layups for Harris.

Player of the Game: Tobias Harris 26 points 10 rebounds 6-17 FG 1-2 3PT 13-14 FT

Stats:

magic.jpg

raptors.jpg

Reaction:
We play a good allaround game. Nikola and Harris keep on playing well. It was nice to see Victor and Payton have good shooting games. We took advantage of J Val's absence and the mismatch of Scola guarding Harris. We could have played better on defense as Lowry and DeRozan killed us, but we are exceeding expectations early in the year considering our schedule.

Around the League:
Melo and Lillard are players of the week
Nets blow out the Lakers behind 27 from Young and 25 from Bogdanovic
Wizards fall to 0-5 as they lose to the Celtics
Bucks beat the Knicks to improve to 6-0
Kings blow out the Rockets behind 32 from Gay
76ers beat the Cavs again 107-91. Okafor continues his crazy start to his career with 24 points 13 rebounds 8 assists and 3 blocks

Next up: @76ers(3-2)

Re: We Have the Magic-Orlando Magic 2k16

Magic Shutdown Okafor, Dominate 76ers

76ers boxscore.jpg

We came into the game determined to take Okafor out of the game. We succedded early on forcing him to go 0-2 from the field in traffic and forcing a turnover on a double team. He picked up his second foul five mintues in and we had a big chance to take advantage. We could not Philly shot 50% from the field on their way to 23 points. We struggled from the field(35%), but hung around thanks to 9 points from Harris and getting some fast break points, as a result we were down 2 going into the second. Canaan(5) and Noel(4) lead the 6ers. Nikola attacked Okafor to start the second quarter, scoring on a post hook over him, and then drawing his third foul less than a minute into the quarter. Philly tried to sneak him in with 3 minutes left in the half, but Nikola quickly posted him up and picked up the forth foul. We tried to push Oladipo a bit and he got 4 fouls also. In a weird quarter Philly outscores us 26-20 to take a 8 point lead into the half. We shot 57% from the field, but only went 3-9 from the line which killed us. Philly only shot 31% from the field, but they went 8-9 from the line and got a stunning 10 offensive rebounds in the quarter(we got 0). Besides Harris(14) and Nikola(11) no one could get anything going on offense. Noel(13 points 9 rebounds) lead the 76er charge. The third quarter was back and forth, we would cut it down to three or four, then they would respond to open it back up to 6-9. Okafor reentered with 7 minutes left and made an impact scoring 6 points and had a nice kick out to a Thompson three off a double team.. They got their lead up to 67-59 with 3:21 left. Nappier got hot and scored our last 11 points of the quarter including the layup to finally tie it with 9 seconds left. It stayed tied into the forth. Okafor fouled out with 7 minutes left in the game. We locked down Philly allowing only 13 forth quarter points on 26% shooting. We struggled only getting 20 points on 38% shooting. When we needed a bucket Nikola got one for us(8 points in the quarter). They stayed within 4 or 5 points most of the forth, but we never were at risk of losing the game. It was an ugly game especially from the line, but we are lucky Philly is bad team. When we took Okafor out of the game it was over for them, they had no scoring options.

Player of the Game: Nikola Vucevic 24 points 15 rebounds 2 blocks 11-14 FG 2-9 FT

Stats:
magic stats vs 76ers.jpg

76ers stats.jpg

Reaction:
We played our best defense of the year, but without Okafor they had noone who could score. Our plan to take him out of the game worked perfectly. We are the first team that he hasn't a 24 point double digit rebound game off of, so we deserve kudos. Besides Harris and Nikola we struggled on offense. We need to hit our free throws, uncharacteristically Nikola only went 2-9. A win is a win, but we need to play offense.

Around the League:
Andre Drummond gets a 3 year 62 million dollar extension(I edited it up from 3 years 39 mil)
31 from Butler and a triple double from Gasol leads the Bulls over the Twolves
31 points and 10 rebounds from Horford leads the Hawks to blow out the 0-6 Wizards
Dirk scores 46 in only 30 minutes as Dallas beats the Pelicans
Bucks are up to 7-0 after blowing out the Nets
41 from Lebron leads the Cavs over the Pacers
Wade puts up 27 points and 11 asissts as the Heat beat the Raptors
Lillard puts up 37 points 7 rebounds and 11 assists as the Blazers beat the Pistons
Kings lose Rondo for 1-2 weeks

Next up: Vs Pacers(2-5)
