Why? OSU always has an over-hyped offense and mediocre defense. Harbaugh finally has his base players in place and no more super dual threat qb experiments. Same formula he used at Standford with better players.

Re: Week 13 Discussion

Figured UM could pull it off(it’s a rivalry game and those type of games usually can go anyway regardless of record/ranking), I just didn’t expect they’d beat them on the road like this.

That should put an end to any playoff talk for Ohio State or Clemson. If USC and TCU take care of business the committee should have it easy.

I'd honestly call the last 14 points desperation points by OSU having to be aggressive, so it was closer than the final score will indicate, but UM was the better team on the field after the first 5 minutes. Harbaugh's defenses always travel well.

I honestly don't know why it took USCe so long to put it together this year? I figured they'd be hotter out of the gate, but at least they came together as the season went on. Rattler looked like a different QB post UF game.

These are 18-22 year old kids. It should be expected that they'll never perform as expected.

Re: Week 13 Discussion

I know Ohio State's owned the rivalry recently, but didn't realize that was Michigan's first win at Ohio State since 2000.

Congrats to psyblast!!!

While I don't disagree that OSU is often overhyped, they are always supremely talented. They have NFL caliber receivers, a good QB, and they were playing at home. Michigan is still not as talented as OSU, and they were playing without their star RB.

His success at Stanford was more than a decade ago, and the game has evolved since then. It is extremely hard to just be a physical team with a run first mentality, especially when you get to big games where the talent is more evenly matched. Nick Saban learned that several years ago. UGA got away with it last year with a historically fantastic defense. It's not a recipe I put stock in having consistent success against other elite teams.

Just seemed like OSU had more cards in their favor.
