So, OSU is going to lose some Team Prestige, right?

We just had one of these threads not too long ago. OSU is one of the top 5 CFB football programs all time, and an incident like this shouldn't effect what's supposed to be a cumulative rating of a teams past achievements and recent events.

As much as I hate OSU, I dont think their prestige should drop. Tressel is a good coach, but OSU has been good for so long.

Not to get off topic, but I noticed poor Fresno's prestige dropped to 2* despite a great 8 win season... Wheras I'm sure Texas will stay 6* prestige after a 5-7 season...

I've got to agree. I'm a Wisconsin fan, I hate OSU but they should still be a 6* prestige team. The coach prestige should drop and they should probably have a little more trouble recruiting than normal, but we all know in a year or two they will be right back on top with a top-notch head coach.

Did USC's drop last season? That'd be the only recent similar events I can think of. I'm pretty sure USC was a 6* in NCAA '11.

I also think that stuff like prestige, etc, was already finalized for NCAA 12 before now. So Tressel's resignation would have no impact.

Florida got to 2 National title games almost 3 in 5 years why would they drop for 1 average season? OSU is gonna get hit hard by the NCAA IMO

Just like were one of the most sucessful programs of the BCS era. Tressel will get hit hard, not sure how much the NCAA will heap on the program though.

Top 5? Really? What facts are you using to base your opinion? All time is a huge statement don't you think. Top 10 yes... but top 5?
