Deportivo La Coruņa 1 - 1 CA Osasuna OSA: Ferreiro 22' DLC: Postiga 50'
Osasuna pushed hard as they try to get back to summing by 3, but La Coruņa refused to go down without a fight. David Ferreiro scored the first for Osasuna by netting a rebound after the goalkeeper saved a shot from Guillermo. Osasuna had the most control but five minutes into the second half La Coruņa's Postiga equalized the match with a header. Deportivo's former manager Texasbum (now known as Texasbaum in Germany) would be proud. Chavez tried to get his players to push forward but La Coruņa defended with their lives, stopping Osasuna from getting the lead back. Nothing but heads down from the Osasuna players once the referee blew the final whistle, as this is the team's third consecutive match in which they lose a lead and finish with a draw. Osasuna's dressing room is not the happiest at the moment.
Europa League - Group Stage CA Osasuna (B-Team) 1 - 1 1899 Hoffenheim HOF: Elyounoussi 48' OSA: Palacios 76'
Osasuna hasn't summed points in Europe since match-day one, and now three games later they get back on track with an important point against a superior Hoffenheim. Much like the first leg, Hoffenheim outshot the Spanish side and controlled possession, but Osasuna defended well to keep it 0-0 for the first half. The B-Team changed formations to a 4-3-3 Attack, with Jose Garcia brought back to CAM and Oier playing RDM with Loe at LDM. This formation had worked out very effectively against Aberdeen, but Hoffenheim did an incredible job at neutralizing Jose Garcia - the brain in midfield. With Jose Garcia being tightly marked and Onwu continuing his poor form, Osasuna struggled to create any chances down the middle. Ramirez seemed to have picked up his game and was sending more crosses into the box but Onwu struggled to get to them. Only three minutes into the second half Hoffenheim managed to break through and take the lead through an amazing volley by Elyounoussi. Chavez was desperate to get back into the game as another defeat in the Europa would severely decrease their chances of advancing. The loanee Federico Palacios was subbed in to replace Loe, moving Garcia back to LDM so that he can take the CAM role. With this change Osasuna had more attacking minds in midfield and it immediately made a difference. Palacios was given plenty of space by Hoffenheim and used his pace to dribble the ball in midfield with ease. He created two scoring chances for Onwu, but the first went off target while the second was intercepted by the defender who defeated Onwu in the physical battle. In the 76th minute, Palacios dribbled the ball from midfield to the edge of the box and held it as he looked up for options to pass. He moved his arms up clearly signaling his teammates, more specifically Onwu, to make a move for a pass instead of just standing there. His patience wore off with the clock's pressure and instead of waiting longer for Onwu he instead chose to switch directions to get the ball on his right foot, and he took a well placed finesse shot, which actually went into the net! The stadium erupted in celebration and many were surprised to see that it was Palacios who had scored. The ball possession evened out and Hoffenheim weren't able to create any more scoring chances. The match would finish as Osasuna's 4th consecutive draw, but this draw had a taste of victory as Osasuna came from behind and with it came survival in Europe for the time being.
CA Osasuna (B-Team) 3 - 2 SD Eibar OSA: Kodro 28' Palacios 81' 87' EIB: Angel 36' Nekounam 79'
Chavez' patience with his B-Team's bad form had run out, and today we saw changes in the lineup. Onwu has been in poor form in the center of attack so he was moved over to LW where he has played well before. The 6'3" left midfielder Kenan Kodro took his place at ST, while Julian Luque was sent to the bench. The changed showed results in the 28th minute as Manuel Onwu sent a cross from the left wing and homegrown Kenan Kodro rose above everyone in the box to head the ball into the net, scoring his first goal in the Chavez era and only his second goal in his professional career. Celebrations were cut short by Eibar's Angel who managed to lose Loe's mark and finished a low cross with a fantastic volley.
In the second half It seemed like Osasuna were headed to their 5th consecutive draw, but things got worse in the 79th minute as the former Osasuna defensive midfielder Nekounam, who was traded for Albentosa last season, put Eibar in the lead by defeating Ivan in an aerial dispute and heading the ball into the net. Osasuna came back just two minutes later though, as Federico Palacios received the ball inside the box and took a shot on goal even though it appeared he did not have enough space to. The ball was struck soft but well placed, and it curved into the net to equalize the match!
Only six minutes later Palacios not only flipped the scoreline, but flipped the mood in general at Osasuna's camp by scoring a late goal to give them the win and finally return to their winning ways. Palacios had been subbed in during the second half to replace Kenan Kodro who had went down with an injury, and he made the best of his opportunity to show that he deserves more minutes on the field.
INJURY NEWS Kenan Kodro (62 OVR - LM) will be out for approximately 5 days with a bruised elbow.
Getafe CF 1 - 0 CA Osasuna GET: Sarabia 19' OSA: Sisi RED CARD 83'
Osasuna's return to victory only lasted two days as Getafe defeated them by the minimal difference. Sarabia scored the only goal of the night through a brilliant one touch shot from the edge of the box which flew into the top left corner - absolutely impossible for Riesgo to reach. Osasuna fought back at full force but Getafe's goalkeeper Guaita was unstoppable today, finishing the match with 11 saves and the MOTM award. Osasuna used the increased pace caused by the rain to attack down the wings, but Guillermo was often beat in the air by his markers. Early in the second half Guillermo jumped for a header but never got back up after he hit the ground. There were worried looks all over, especially from Chavez, as the medics took Guillermo off the field. The manager would have to wait until after the match to receive the doctor's report. Palacios was subbed in for Guillermo but he wasn't able to continue his scoring form tonight. Things only worsened for Osasuna in the 83rd minute when Sisi received his second yellow card of the match and was sent off. The Spanish midfielder lost his temper when Getafe's winger took the ball to the corner flag and held it there. Even with an extra man Getafe still focused on holding the ball at the corner flags and killed the clock, forcing the match to end 1-0 in their favor.
INJURY NEWS Guillermo will be out for approximately 2 months with a broken elbow.
CA Osasuna 0 - 0 Sevilla CF
In Guillermo's absence Chavez fielded a 4-3-3 False 9 with Cuevas at CF. On paper it looked like a good idea, but with no attacking mind in midfield the attack was lacking from Osasuna. Not too long after the starting whistle Chavez swapped Torres to CF and Cuevas to LW. The team played better, but again with no one in midfield to push forward and join the attack Osasuna weren't dangerous. When asked why a natural striker was used to cover for Guillermo Chavez replied that Onwu is going through a tough time at the moment and Palacios is "not ready" for the first team yet. Sevilla was clearly the dominant team today and they bombarded Osasuna's net in search for the victory, but Asier Riesgo put the team on his shoulder and saved the point several times, earning himself the MOTM award with 9 saves. Osasuna looked relieved to hear the final whistle, while Sevilla looked disappointed for not being able to take the three points from the now weakened side.
Celta de Vigo 1 - 1 CA Osasuna OSA: Cuevas 45' CEL: Fernandez 87' RED CARD: Larrivey (CEL) 90'
After an unsuccessful experiment with a 4-3-3 False 9, Chavez returned to the 4-3-3 Holding only this time with Palacios at ST as a target man. The 5'7" wasn't very effective as a target man when it came to shielding the ball, but he fought hard each time and did a great job bringing the ball down with his chest and passing it to a teammate running into space all game long. This was most evident as we neared halftime and Palacios brought the ball down, used his pace to beat his marker, send Cuevas a through ball that allowed him to run into space, dribble past two defenders and take a shot which resulted as a goal for Osasuna. The Basque club still wasn't very dangerous in attack without Guillermo, so they focused on defending their lead which they did rather well until Celta's Fernandez scored a late goal by finishing a low cross. Osasuna went full forward in search for a comeback which resulted in Celta's striker Larrivey receiving a second yellow when he dropped back to defend. Osasuna didn't have a chance to take advantage of the extra man as the referee ended the match soon after the sending off. Asier Riesgo was awarded his second consecutive MOTM award by completing the match with 7 saves.
CA Osasuna Player of The Month
GK - Asier Riesgo (73 OVR 31yrs) (+0)
The Basque goalkeeper takes November's POTM award by putting the team on his shoulders after Guillermo's injury. Losing a key player like Guillermo is devastating for any club, especially for a club like Osasuna with not a lot of talent in the striker position. Knowing that the club's goal scorer is out and that finishing plays up front will be much more difficult from now on, Riesgo upped his game and took on the responsibility to give his teammates a fighting chance.

Youth Academy *Due to the club's serious financial struggles, the youth academy hasn't had any new additions or promotions.
Spoiler
Joyce Barber - RM (54-58, 71-75): By reading his name one might assume the player is from the United Kingdom, but in fact he is a Spaniard. At least, he was born in Spain. Barber is only 5'4" but he has proven to be a playmaker from the wing even at 15 years of age.
Paré Bulhões Romeu - RW (68-72, 83-89): The second addition to the youth academy is this 16 year old from Spain, who carries the same first and middle name as the first player that joined the academy. He's easily the most talented player in the U-17 right now and could fight for a starting spot with the senior team right away, but Chavez hasn't shown intent of promoting him this season.
Paré Bulhões Vinuesa Ramos - CDM (64-68, 81-87): The 17 year old from Spain immediately caught Chavez's eye when the youth academy resumed operations last month, and he is now in line for a potential call up to the senior team in the future. Ramos stands at 6'3" and has chosen CDM as his primary position. The player covered several others in the youth team, so he looks to be a very versatile player on the field. The youngster also hasn't chosen which, whether his last name or maiden name, will be printed on his jersey when he does receive the call up...
Roussillon Murnane - ST (55-59, 71-75): The 5'9" 16-year old from Spain has shown the characteristics of a winger as he tends to drift wide from the center.

Injury Crisis For Osasuna
What everyone is talking about in regards to Osasuna, is Guillermo's terrible injury that will keep him out of touch for two months. An injury crisis usually consists of multiple injuries affecting the same team, however Guillermo's importance to his club is what puts Osasuna in an unfortunate crisis during his absence. The Basque striker was shooting for back-to-back Golden Boot awards, but it will have to be put on hold at least until he returns. In the meantime it appears the goal scoring responsibilities will be put on young loanee Federico Palacios' shoulders, who has been in good form with the B-Team. If Palacios is unable to perform, Kenan Kodro is looking promising as well and if Onwu can finally pick up his form soon he can also be considered as a candidate. Osasuna had been doing well for their first year in La Liga, but this unfortunate event has clouded their future.
Europa League Struggles
Osasuna's B-Team was quite remarkable in Liga Adelante and the Copa Del Rey last season, but they now find themselves in a tough spot in the Europa League although arguably justified by the increase in competition. The alternative squad was able to save a point against Hoffenheim that is keeping them alive in the European tournament but they have tough match ups coming up against Napoli, who although they defeated in the first match they are still a dangerous team, and Aberdeen who defeated Osasuna in Scotland. My sources had previously informed me that Chavez would utilize the first team to try to get Osasuna back to the top of the group, but with Guillermo's injury the B-Team is looking more solid than the first team now.
Conclusion
I think a tear almost came out when I saw the doc's email. I'm counting the weeks until Guillermo comes back. For now, I'm depending on Palacios (62 OVR) to pick up the slack. He did okay with the target man instruction, but given his low stature and pace I'm going to try him out with the "get in behind" instruction next. Manuel Onwu would have been the first name brought up to take Guillermo's place, but as I mentioned in the last update he's been in poor form and has barely had one good match with the B-Team at LW. I thought the 4-3-3 False 9 with Cuevas was perfect, but with no attacking mind in the midfield three the formation was very docile. Julian Luque would have been the man to add that attacking touch, but same as Onwu he's been in bad form. This month has put me in a tough spot, but I always welcome a challenge!
Getting really sleepy now (it's 4am over here) so I'm going to have to end it here. I haven't been able to get on the forum as much lately and I apologize for that. Hopefully tomorrow I can get ahead on some work so I can reply to a few careers.
Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks For Reading!
Looks like you struggled to score goals this month with a lot of 1-1 draws. (Except for the Eibar game. Late winners!) Still as Cabee said, 1 point is better than none. Riesgo looks like he's upped his game which is exactly want you need now that you unfortunately lost Guillermo for a few months. They will definitely be hard months, hopefully Palacios can perform.

Thanks! That City game was amazing. Usually they dominate me in terms of attempts and what not but that game I was pretty level with them. Yeah the league form had a bit of a stutter but I hope we can get back on track next month. McManus is looking like he'll be a beast in the centre of defence alright! I wonder if he stays in until May if his stats will go up much more. I'm wondering the same with Matty Daniel and Dane Doyle also.
@Tex And yes, for next season onwards, I do need to take Coke out of the midfield. I want a box-to-box player there, but it's been tough finding British midfielder with the stats I want at a price and wage I can afford! No success so far.
What price range are you looking to spend for a midfielder to replace him?
