Building a 49er Tradition---NCAA 10 (PS3)

Charlotte 49ers

Charlotte, NC-
Big news out of North Carolina today as the Charlotte 49ers have decided to begin play for the 2009 season.

It has been kept a secret recently about which conference the team will play for until now. The Charlotte 49ers will replace the UAB Blazers after UAB had numerous violations that stretched over the past 2 years.

"We are excited, the fans have been waiting for this day after since we decided to make an effort to get a football team."

Things won't be easy for the 49ers, but in time fans hope that Charlotte will be in contention for a long time.

This should be interesting, especially since UNCC is aiming at getting a football team over the next few years.

49ers Hold On To First Win....Ever.

Charlotte, NC-
The 49ers played in their inaugural game on Saturday in front of a sellout crowd of about 30,000 patrons. And the fans left in both amazement and excitement.

The Charlotte 49ers managed to rally back from a 10-7 Halftime deficit and 4 interceptions thrown by the QB to pull off the big upset. Well it wasn't really an upset since the teams very pretty even, but still.

The big play happened late when Robby Kimbrough hit tight end Paul Weiss on a crossing route for a 29 yard TD pass with 32 seconds left. The fans went crazy knowing that Rice had little chance of winning.

After the game, reporters managed to catch up with the coach Kevin Rogers. He said, "Well it is always good to get the first one out of the way. But we still have work to do."

Charlotte will stay home next weekend as the SMU Mustangs come to take on the 49ers.
