9 minute quarters, base sliders are J-Unit's set, with a couple minor tweaks to fit my own preferences.

Well if it makes you feel better, I'm close to beating them for a huge recruit.

I'm paranoid. Could've kicked off through the endzone and then committed pass interference on a hail mary.

Going for 2 there, was smart. That's trying to cover your butt. I would have done the same thing.

Re: Oregon Ducks (NCAA 10)

Visit seals the deal for Jones
Ducks land their star QB

EUGENE, OR - The afterglow of the dramatic 37-36 victory over powerhouse USC is still in the air in Eugene, and the Ducks must take measures to prevent a letdown against winless Stanford in Palo Alto, but the drama and excitement created by the win was huge, and it has extended into the world of recruiting.

The Ducks hosted several of their highest priority targets for Halloween weekend, and their efforts produced immediate dividends, as 4-star dual-threat quarterback Jarrett Jones of Edison High School in Fresno, California announced his commitment to the Ducks.

"I had planned visits to Oklahoma State and Nebraska, but after visiting Oregon, I decided I didn't need to take them," Jones said. "Everything about the visit was amazing. The campus was beautiful, the coaches are great people, the fans and the atmosphere was electric, the facilities were mind-blowing. It was an A+ visit, and I committed to Coach Kelly before I left on Sunday."

Jones, the #6 QB in the country and #57 player overall, provides Oregon with their most-hyped quarterback recruit since Dennis Dixon. He also provides the Ducks with a budding pipeline at Edison High School in Fresno, where they landed star cornerback Cliff Harris from last year (Harris is redshirting this year for UO).

While the feedback from the visiting recruits was universally positive, not all the news was good on the recruiting front, as three linebackers being recruited by the Ducks committed elsewhere over the weekend. The #7 and #8 outside linebackers in the country, Marlin Singletary of Idabel, Oklahoma and Mike Davis of Alderwood Manor, Washington, committed to Oklahoma and Texas, respectively. Davis did not hold an Oregon offer. The biggest blow, however, was 5-star inside linebacker Chase Carter of Texarkana, Texas committing to LSU. The number two player in the country had tenatively scheduled a visit to Eugene for the Arizona State game, but the Ducks were always viewed as an extreme longshot when going up against the more local powerhouse LSU and Texas programs.

Huge pickup in Jarrett Jones, but losing out on those LBs is tough.

Ducks avoid the letdown
Injury bug & new defensive scheme highlight UO's win at Stanford

PALO ALTO, CA - The writing was really on the wall when Brian Kudron took over the Oregon defense at halftime of the USC game.

Now it's right out there in the open: Nick Aliotti has been marginalized and essentially removed from the defensive process. The Ducks debuted a more conventional 4-3 look at Stanford, with JUCO transfer Bryson Littlejohn being inserted into the lineup at the SAM linebacker spot. It was an up and down process, as the Ducks gave up 500 yards and 31 points, but overall Chip Kelly was pleased with the defense in the 38-31 win.

"I thought we did well, considering some factors," Oregon's head coach said. "After an emotional high like last week, there's bound to be some letdown. And we adjusted the scheme at the start of the week, so some of our players were a little tenative at first. But I thought we did a good job overall."

The injury bug reared its ugly head, however. Running back LaMichael James and wide receiver Jamere Holland both went down with abdominal injuries that will sideline them.

"LaMichael will probably only miss a game," Kelly said. "Jamere's is a little worse, he'll be out for a few weeks. We're hoping to have him back in time for the Civil War."
