Re: Houston Texans Franchise
Texans Pull Trigger, Get C. Brennan The Texans have pulled the trigger on a trade, but its not who you would think. The Texans have traded their 7th round pick to the Washington Redskins for former Hawaii standout Colt Brennan. Coach Heimerdinger said: "If this kid can do half of what he did at Hawaii here I'll be fine with it. We don't need someone to come out here and throw the ball a bunch of times. We just need a guy to keep the defenders out of the box without turning it over. We hope Brennan can be that guy. |

Re: Houston Texans Franchise
Week 6: Texans(3-2) at Colts(5-0) Late TD Lifts Texans Over Colts Houston, TX--AP:The Texans went into this game after getting destroyed by the Jaguars last week. They knew they were going to have another tough game even with a different QB at the helm. They decided to start Colt Brennan because they thought he was ready to take the job. He didn't have a stellar game statistically, but if you ask anyone on the Texans they will tell you he won the game for them. The Texans were down 17-12 with 1:27 left in the game and they got the ball back on the 50 with no time outs left. Brennan was able to lead them down the field and hit O. Daniels in the endzone for the game winning score. Will this be a sign of things to come? We can only hope. Code:

Week 7: Bills(2-4) at Texans(4-2) Houston Wins A Surprising Shootout Houston, TX--AP:This was a game everyone would like. Lots of hard hitting and lots of scoring. The defenses looked helpless every time the opposing offense would take the field. There were turn overs, but besides a few INT's there weren't many stops. In the 4th quarter, the Texans were able to get the ball with less than two minutes left and drive down the field for the win. Code:

Week 8: Texans(5-2) at Cowboys(5-1) Houston, TX--AP:The game between the Texans and the Cowboys has been a rivalry ever since the Texans were born. They stunned the Cowboys in their first meeting and beat them. This game hasn't been as exciting in recent years, and this one didn't do much either. The Texans dominated the game the entire time with their defense. They pressured Romo all game and scored pretty well too. The final score was 42-21 with the Texans taking another win.Houston Blows Out State Rival Code:

Re: Houston Texans Franchise
Texans Bring Back Walter The Texans have decided to bring back WR Kevin Walter after Jacoby Jones failed to produce as the #2 wideout. Walter did not re-sign with the team last offseason because he thought he could test the free agent waters. After being out of football for half of a season, he has now accepted an offer with the Texans. He will be plugged in as the #2 wideout immediately and Jacoby will now focus more on his return game which has been outstanding this year. |

Re: Houston Texans Franchise
Week 9: Eagles(3-4) at Texans(6-2) Houston, TX--AP:The Eagles came into this game with only 2 healthy WR's on their roster. They had Reggie Brown and Jeremy Maclin. This was good news for a Texans secondary that has struggled against the pass, but was just getting back Glover Quin and Bernard Pollard. The first half was slow and the score going into halftime was 6-3 with the Eagles having the lead.Houston Edges Out Injury Struck Eagles The second half had more action and it all came down to an Eagles 3rd and 2 on the Texans 30 yard line. McNabb dropped back to pass and threw an out to Maclin. But, Cromartie read it all the way and jumped it and returned the INT for the TD. This would end up being the last score in the game and gave the Texans the win in one of the hardest fought games of the year. Code:

Re: Houston Texans Franchise
Patriots Release QB Moore The Patriots have surprisingly released QB Matt Moore. Moore was just a backup, but he was a good backup. It seems the Patriots felt it was not necessary for them to hold on to a backup for as much money as they were paying him. This obviously looks like an easy signing for the Texans. Their current starting QB, Colt Brennan, is coming off of a 3 turnover game (1 INT, 2 fumbles) and has struggled to start in the Texans offense. I guess we will have to wait and see, but the timing looks perfect as this is the Texans BYE week. |
