After the South Carolina State game 3 star Guard Jack Conley committed to play at Grambling. Jack is a 2nd team 3A All State player out of Bogalusa High. He picked Grambling because he wanted to stay in state and play college ball. Jack has Field Awarness: A, Vertical: 26.2, Bench: 480, Squat: 620, Potential/Discipline: Poor. This now gives Grambling 3 commits so far during the season.

Grambling, LA: Week 11 saw the Tigers get worked over in front of the home crowd. Navy came in like they were playing BattleShip and sunk the Tigers to the tune of 61-0. The Grambling offense once again could not get anything working. The lose of Brandon Landers is showing how important he was as the starter. The Tigers will not be going to a Bowl this year. Ed McGee who was in attendance gave a soft verbal after the game but did not look to happy with what he saw. Who could blame the young man.

Rece Davis:Welcome to this week's edition of BCS Countdown and as you can see we have had some major moves in the last two weeks. The former #1 team LSU has dropped to #13 after Losing 2 games. While Penn State has claimed the #1 spot this week. Kirk your takes.

Kirk: I was shocked to see LSU lose two straight but as we know when we get to the month of Nov things get a little tougher. Teams have hit their stride and the race in on for conference championships. Penn State and Nebraska have stood strong all year. The surprise team for me is Ole Miss undefeated so far on the season at 10-0 but not getting love from the Rankings. Coming out of the SEC West I would expect them to be ranked higher. With their next game against LSU things could get real interesting in the SEC West.

Rece:: Kirk, I would have to agree with you on that. I will add that Cal needs things to fall just right for them as of right now they are on the outside looking in. Let's take a look at our current Heisman Standings

Heisman Watch - Updated: Nov 14, 2006

Kirk: Crowell looks to be a man in charge of his own destiny. He could very well win the Heisman and National Championship in the same season.

Rece: Only time will tell Kirk. Thanks everyone for tuning in. See you in two weeks with out next edition of BCS Countdown.

Washington D.C.: Before the Tigers hit the road the team learned that SR Running back Abdulan Kuuan as been suspended for the final two games. Kuuan was caught having another study take his exams.

Quote:
Coach Roman:I hate to see the young mans playing days come to an end like this, but what he did can not be overlooked. Academics is what we hold to a great standard. We will now be without 2 of our best playmakers for our last two games. One because of injury and one because of choices he made. We will do what needs to be done and move on.
On this day the Tigers would find their mojo once again. This time pitching a shutout against the Howard Bison. The game started off slow for both teams as they went scoreless in the 1st Quarter. In the 2nd Quarter Grambling would put up 14 points. Taking the lead in the the Half 14-0. In the 2nd Half Grambling keep putting in work. Scoring 3 in the 3rd Quarter and 10 in the 4th to take a 27-0 victory.

Grambling, LA:The game simply known as "The Classic" to those in Louisiana to others you know it as the Bayou Classic. The annual meeting between Southern University and Grambling State University. This one like most "Classics" do started off with a bang as Southern CB Adam Crossley returned the opening kickoff 89yds to the house. Grambling would answer by marching down the field for a TD when QB David Brown found TE Mike Davis for a the 10yd score. The teams would then trade possessions until the 2nd Quarter when Grambling started to take control. First it was RB Landry Carter taking it in for the 2yd score. Then Brown would connect with Henry Tolbert for an 8yds score. As time expired in the Half Brown would connect with Clyde Edwards on a 31yd score. At the Half Grambling would be up 28-7. In the 2nd Half Grambling just ran out the clock at Southern couldn't get anything really going on Offense only putting up 8 points in the 3rd Quarter. The Tigers Defense came to play forcing 6 turnovers 5 being INTs. Grambling may not be headed to a bowl but what better way to end the season then with a huge victory over your rival to keep them a win short of becoming Bowl eligible.

Quote:
Coach Roman:What way to end the season! This always a game circled on the calendar every year. Good old fashion sibling rivalry. You this game will divide families. Divide North and South Louisiana for a week. We have just won bragging rights until next season. This is a great way to end the season and to send our Seniors out on SENIOR NIGHT.
Quote:
Landry Carter:I might have been named player of the game but this is for the entire team. We stuck together as a unit all season through all the ups and down. No better way to end the season.
Quote:
Jermaine Mills:I might not leave Grambling every have played in a Bowl Game but we won the classic and to us born here in Louisiana this is like our Super Bowl. This is what all Seniors preached this week. Let's win Classic leave it all out on the field and that's exactly what we did. I know coach is going to have Grambling in a bowl in no time we just came up a little short this year.
