Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I think they would give him up. With Cain, Gordon and Aoki clogging up the OF, as well as having Dyson, I don't think he will play a big roll, and they can make a legit run to make that fan base erupt if they aquire Byrd to help out with OF problems and Burnett to solidify the rotation and help with the younger guys, while starling can make a big impact on the phils.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
These last 2-3 pages have been a bit confusing, but is the trade something like A.J Burnett + Marlon Byrd to the Royals in exchange for Bubba Starling, and someone like Miguel Almonte?
I can't see the Royals trading Manaea or Dozier (especially with Moustakas flaming out), since they were both just drafted, and they spent quite a bit of money on Manaea.Comment

Starling is still young and has lots of time to figure it out. I'm not a huge fan of his, but he is about as close to the textbook definition of "boom or bust" as you can get, and could be gold if he can put it all together. Maybe he just needs some Philly love!
Both Cliff Lee trades look to be fair. Personally, I think the LAD trade is a bit better, but that's just an opinion. I like Zach Lee more than Sanchez, and Joc more than any of em'.Last edited by Coper3000; 05-24-2014, 08:19 PM.Comment

Looks okay to me, especially if Casto is playing well. Paxton is kinda lost in the mix with the M's and a change of scenery might be good for him to get some consistent MLB playing time. Ackley has struggled recently and if he's still struggling in your franchise and Logan Morrison is playing well he could easily be moved. Carson Smith and Victor Sanchez would be nice pieces for you to build your staff and pen with, and since Seattle seriously looks like they want to contend IRL and is contending in your franchise, I think this deal looks good, at least from my perspective.Comment

Gotcha! I like it, as Byrd and Aoki could platoon RF at the bare minimum, and Burnett helps in the rotation.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
True, but I feel like D.J. Davis can eventually come up and probably be better... Osuna is a stud and I like Sanchez 50x more then Lee, better potential, OVR, and is just improving.... plus Jimenez fits his situation. And he can even take Jimenez out and just do Kendrick for Jimenez and then put in a different C prospect.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Just go with your gut haha. I'm not trying to sway you in either direction but the reason I did the Toronto trade was because I'm trading Burnett/Lee, so I'm going to want pitching back. Sanchez intrigued me a lot with a good fastball 93-96(sometimes 97) with some other great pitches... struck out 12 through 7 with him in AAA and he is in the majors now. Then Osuna is 19(maybe 18?) A Pot with already decent stats. Then D.J. Davis has 92 speed! All you have to do is develop his contact and he will be one of the best OFers in the game. Then you know my reason for Jimenez. Not sure the exact details of the Dodgers one, I think it was Lee, Pederson and Urias? Am I wrong?Last edited by KingFry; 05-24-2014, 11:28 PM.Comment

I'd still go with the Dodgers deal. Burnett to Texas, Kansas or Toronto in a separate. (Texas could be an option for Carlos Ruiz as well if you're looking to move him. Or maybe the Dodgers need an upgrade at catcher?)Last edited by Totte; 05-24-2014, 11:27 PM.Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
That actually just gave me an idea... I just got off but I know Chooch was batting .280 with 7 HRs and about 35 RBIs or so... playing pretty well.. what do you think I could get for him to the Dodgers? I know Ellis was doing bad, so I know they would probably like Chooch.Comment

Sanchez could be good too, and I agree his POT is higher than Z. Lee, but he can be wild such as how he was IRL today pitching a whopping 0.0 innings while walking 4, and giving up 3 runs before being yanked, haha.
I also like D.J Davis a lot too. He's still a tad raw, but he has some wheels, and could be really, really good. Jimenez should be solid as well. Honestly, you can't go wrong.
