I think this is where I'm going to turn. Pitching is simply too easy and not moving up quickly enough. I don't feel threatened at all by the CPU, and the only way they are scoring is when I get bored and start laying pitches right down the middle. May just jump to HOF and be done with that portion of the game. Hitting is more of a challenge for me and I may leave that at DD to judge where I should really be.

      Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

I'm liking using DD for RTTS. I go on streaks both hot and cold where I go from Rookie+ up through the levels to Veteran+. Then I get cold and wind up back at Rookie+. Seem to move up and down like this.

It helps keep my stats realistic. That said, it is a bit annoying to be playing great personally but having my team (Orioles) looking a lot. RTTS is fun but that's a major annoying aspect of it for me.

I'm done with dd. Im back on default all star. I don't like winning that much with my twins unless its a challenge.

          Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

I'm 5-4 in a Mariners franchise in which I started EXACTLY at All-Star for both hitting and pitching (thanks to some AL All Stars vs AA level games).

The only issue I'm seeing right now are the times my team has struck out, which has been next to nothing. I know in my last two games against the Angels, we have a total of ONE strikeout. For the season, we've struck out 20 times in those 9 games. It's just far too easy to put the ball in play.

Any remedy to this on DD? Will it fix itself eventually? The second place team for strikeouts against is Detroit with 43. Two of my everyday starters have yet to strikeout all season.

            Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

I found that DD was fun but at the end of the day I need static levels. Very good tool to get an idea for where you need to put your difficulty.

The issue I ran into was the mini-game of leveling up and down. I just got tired of it.

SCEA let's please enable the "+" level on all difficulties.

I second this. I have been an All-Star level player for a few years now, and DD pretty much has me set on Veteran+ which is fine.

                Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

I've actually been using DD as a built-in feedback system on my sliders.

Pitching-wise, I'm finding myself perpetually between difficulty levels - constantly being promoted and demoted. Recently I've been on a mission to set my sliders and go a minimum of 10 games without advancing or regressing a half level.

With Solid Hits at 6, I didn't make it too too long before going from AS to AS+ and back again. I've now decided to give Contact 6 (Solid Hits 5) a go and have now gone 7 games without my levels changing (I use AS as my base). Currently I'm AS progress +.

3 games to go. Perhaps a couple more if I deem it necessary based on my pitching stats (though anything less than 20-30 total games is still less than ideal).

I'm tired of the see-sawing so decided to use the coding to my benefit instead!

How do you use sliders w DD?

I know the option exists, but are you just leveraging sliders to avoid demotion/promotion?

                    That's exactly what I'm doing.

If the game promotes or demotes me with my current sliders I'll adjust them and start again. DD is like my all knowing slider over-see'er. LOL!

I figure if default is constantly changing levels on me (and I mean constant), sliders are needed to keep OPS where it should be to have realistic games over the long haul.

My current goal is setting the sliders and going 10 games with them without changing levels.

                      Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

I have been trying DD...I'm not as young as I used to be so my reactions are slowing but it seems to be working fine for me. I feel like I have to work for my wins. Pitching seems to have settled in at Veteran + and hitting is flipping between high Rookie and Low Veteran.

I'm right at .500 in 30 games so far.

I guess my question is: what is the 'goal' of DD? It seems to me that you'd be stuck at .500? If you get too good, it will get harder, and if you are playing poorly it gets easier...Is it possible to play 0.600 ball under DD?

I'm very interested in dynamic difficulty...still downloading MLB 14 from PSN...has been almost a month now. 7gb to do...africa

Anyways, will most likely be done by the weekend. I've got one question about DD.

The concept of Madden IQ was great, but it didn't work for me. One game I would rush for 250 yards with HB and the next only manage 20 yards. The change was too severe.

                        Does this happen with DD?

Ya basically thats what I found but not game to game like madden but more like a few games. When I got to the maximum of my difficulty it basically would be super hard where id only get a few hits a game then it would drop to super easy where I was destroying the cpu for a few games. I discovered that my skill level is in between 2 levels I think. I ended up not using dynamic difficulty any more and choosing the lower end difficulty with slider adjustments.

im sure everybodies experience is different so I suggest to try it. At the very least it will help determine where your skill level should be.

Game 8 saw a massacre like 13 run explosion and I got demoted to Veteran +.

Ok. So Default is too easy according to DD. As is CPU Solid Hits 6. But apparently Contact 6 (Solid Hits 5) is too hard so I guess I'm back to the drawing board.

What is up with pitching this year?

Not for me...based on my avatar...I am more of a hockey fan than MLB.

So when I started my RTTS in DD, it started in rookie and slowly progress to Veteran and now I am in ALL STAR. In each, it grades you with +, ++. +++, ++++ then you move to All Star + then go on again. So if you have a great game and followed by a poor game, the adjustment (DD) is not much.
