Re: MLB 15 The Show (Community Day Gameplay Q&A Thread)
Personally I am excited about gameplay this year. Watching it like you are guys are doing does not give it full justice. It has a dramatically different feel when you experience it first hand. The onfield play has been slowed down which does wonders for the game. Animations play out better, players react better giving the game more personality so to speak.NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.Comment

Did anyone try out zone plus analog? If so, how did it feel? I heard they made some changes to it..not referring to the new directional hitting. Wondering about Zone plus analogComment

It might be more approachable for some now that you do to have to worry about the stride portion of the mechanic.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: MLB 15 The Show (Community Day Gameplay Q&A Thread)
A couple of questions....
In the past few years, its been difficult turning routine double plays (or should I clarify...completing the back end of the play). The other teams players seem to run the base paths a lot faster than mine. A hard hit ground ball directly to the 3B, should be a double play, but it has become very difficult.
So, has this been improved from the previous years? Is it a runners speed adjustment or am I stuck in an animation which slows things down?
Another question.
Has Analog Control for defense been corrected/improved. Along the lines above mentioned double play problems that I have been experiencing, I would get an extreme amount of over throwing the first baseman using analog controls. Usually, during an attempted double play. Had to switch to button accuracy (BTW, not my favorite method).
Has this (Analog fielding) been corrected? I am saying corrected, because I wasn't the only one experiencing the over-throws.
ThanksComment

Things definitely are different in regards to speed on the base paths. When I first started playing I had the mindset of 14 and how quickly I had to turn things because of the CPU burning down first. After turning my first double play I realized speed had been reduced and all plays were not bang bang like you saw a lot in 14. This is especially apparent when you have a runner heading to first who is dragging a piano behind him, he has considerable ground to cover by the time the ball gets to first. So you should see some differences especially with the speed paradigm included in the mix.
I am an analog user for fielding and I do not have issues turning a double play so it is hard for me to tell if it was improved. I know they are always making under the hood tweaks year to year so I can't really say things will be different for you.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: MLB 15 The Show (Community Day Gameplay Q&A Thread)
We didn't get to see much behind the pitcher footage, but from what I saw, catcher animations didn't appear to be overhauled. However, I'm not sure we even saw a batter take a pitch, so can you please give us some feedback from your time with the game?
I'd like to see new setup animations w/ more body shifting, framing on close pitches, and more diverse blocking/reaching on pitches that miss their target. It looks like the equipment finally received some love, so now we need better animations to complete the visual upgrade of a character that's on screen for nearly half the game.Comment

But in MLB 14 and previous years, your user controlled speed guy still gets thrown out on most double play attempts that you would see the runner being safe on a similar play in real life.Comment

Re: MLB 15 The Show (Community Day Gameplay Q&A Thread)
That's too bad if not much changed, maybe next year. I was hoping they'd build on the "new catcher animation suite" added last(?) year. Ideally, I'd like to see them have a handful of packages to choose from similar to batter customization -- setup, blocking, framing, throwing, between pitch (adjusting equipment & such), etc -- to add more variety & authenticity to a big chunk of gameplay.Comment
