      Update:

Brewers Fire Manager Ron Roenicke and Hitting Coach Michael Jones.

Brewers Announce today on November 8th, 2015 that Terry Francona has signed a 3 year deal to manage the Club through 2018.

The Club also announce that they have inked a deal with Juan Samuel; former Philadelphia Phillies 1st and 3rd Base Coach to take over as the New Pitching Coach, officially ending the chance of Rick Kranitz returning to the post after not re-signing him after the end of the season.

The Brewers continue their search for a new Hitting Coach as Former Pittsburgh Pirates Manager Clint Hurdle and Former Kansas City Royals Pitching Coach Dave Eiland lead the candidates.

Also, The Brewers have announced they do not intend to resign Adam Lind nor Aramis Ramirez, the Club's only Qualified Free Agents.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Tigers franchise at the end of May I am sitting at 24-28. Good for last place in the central division. Had a rough stretch going 2-5 on my 7 game road trip. My bullpen has been disasterous and had blown a couple of leads. Matt Joyce of all people destroyed me. He hit a total of 5 homers against me. 3 in the first game and 2 in the fourth game. Hopefully I can turn it around at home with 3 games against Oakland before headed to Chicago to face the White Sox.

I just got J.D. Martinez back from the 60 day DL he had been there since the end of Spring Training. That's more power added to my lineup.

Miggy is now up to 11 homers and 41 RBI's.
        Vmart has 10 homers and 34 RBI's
Wynton Bernard has been a spark for me at the top of the lineup. Inciarte as well.
Ian Kinsler broke out of a long slump and now has 6 homers with 23 RBI's. He hit 3 homers on the road trip.

My offense is clicking right now, but my bullpen and back end starters have been dreadful. Hopefully I can have a winning month this time around.

Might not be the place to ask this but how do you guys determine proper value when making trades in your franchise? Or is it, if you can get him get him?

I try to make sure I offer what they are looking for or good, solid value in terms of the kind of player, that doesn't open huge holes (unless they are rebuilding), and includes one quality player/prospect from what they list they are seeking.

I always imagined myself playing in the Majors, as it was a dream of mine. Now, it is out of reach obviously, but in a video game anything can happen. I'm a teenager in real life, and I play 1B. I decided in my Mets Franchise I am going to recreate one of the fake draftees I signed and make them into me -- such a fun element and I can see how my path through the majors would be on my favorite team without going through the long, frustrating and tedious task of RTTS. (Not to say I don't like RTTS, just it get's tiring sometimes). Anyone else done this?

Yep. I make myself into a relief pitcher since you can't even be a MR (at least not easily) in RTTS as well as a SP sometimes.

Plus, like you, some of the mechanics of RTTS can get annoying, etc.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

September arrives and the Marlins are in a world of hurt, literally.

Jose Fernandez once again suffers an injury that causes him to miss significant time. This pretty much ends his season, though he might see postseason action should the Marlins make it.

In addition, Aaron Sanchez re-injured himself not long after coming off the DL from his prior injury. Like Fernandez, Aaron might, maybe, return during the playoffs.

On top of that, Marcell Ozuna went down with an injury just trying to give Stanton a day off in RF.

The rotation will now be head by second-year phenom Damian Boeve in perhaps his largest responsibility since arriving to the majors. He will have to be the ace and lead the staff into the playoffs.

Behind him will be rookie Hunter Harvey, who looks very good and probably is big-league ready, but he's also untested at this level and will step into a pressure-packed situation. Clay Huff will return to the majors with his smoke-and-mirrors "stuff". Jacob Turner will be there to provide support if needed, fortunately. Trevor Williams, for now anyway, is healthy and could be called upon.

Harvey could also showcase himself for the offseason should the Marlins consider shopping him.

Nori Aoki returns to the majors to take Ozuna's spot on the bench.

The Marlins will need everyone to come through. For the first time, Iwakuma is looking like an again veteran while rookie Moses Bartlett has been struggling with the feel on his knuckler recently. Both will need to pick it up. The team sits in third place again with the Phillies now on top of the NL East. The Braves are still in this as well, just 3 1/2 back. There's no time for slipping up.

Around mid-September, the Marlins should get Solano and Jose Campos back so that will help down the final stretch - but the team will have to make sure it's still in position for those games to matter.

It's going to be interesting to see how free agency will pan out for me. I want to keep it as realistic as possible but I would also like to pretend the Wilpons have sold the team, so I might try to sign Cespedes long-term, which is something that is unlikely to happen with the Mets current ownership.
I would LOVE for the Mets to sign Cespedes long term. Though, as you said, it isn't likely, and the fact that their 2 big offseason acquisitions the past two years have been aging outfielders, it's such a perfect fit. He loves NY and the spotlight, he can obviously hit at Citi Field, and he's the thump in the lineup they need. I'd try to sign him if I were you. I let him go and unfortunately for me, he ended up signing with the Nats for 5 years :/

Any time I try to do a franchise with the Yankees, I realize how unlikely their success this season has bee. Gardner, Beltran, A-Rod, Tex, Pineda and others always get hurt for extended periods of time. I've simmed most of the season. A-Rod is still hurt for a few weeks. I'm 50-52, about 1.5 games out of the second WC spot. The damn Red Sox have a 12 game lead for first.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Spring Training in 2017 has begun. We made some improvements over the course of the offseason that I'm actually pretty excited about. We do have some battles that will be taking place this Spring, so I was excited to start it yesterday with a 2-1 win over the Marlins.

Our main focus this offseason was to improve the depth of our bullpen and I think we did just that. We traded some bullpen prospects that weren't working for us and added some pieces that I think will bolster our bullpen for years to come. The biggest addition is that we signed Neftali Perez this offseason and he will work in the Setup role. This move will likely put Seth Maness down in Triple A Memphis, but that has yet to be seen. Perez had a horrible 2016 and if he struggles this Spring, we will likely look to move him ($5M salary) to get money off our books.

We made a move that strengthened our defense as we traded Lance Lynn to the Braves to get Andrelton Simmons. We have so much depth at Starting Pitcher that it was time to give a youngster or two at shot at being our number 5 starter. Getting Simmons gives us a SS for 3 more years at a bargain price. What truly triggered this move was the fact the Mariners came calling on Jhonny Peralta in exchange for bullpen depth. Once I decided to make that move, I put Lynn on the block to see what I could get and the Braves offered up Simmons. So I made both trades.

Rob Kaminsky, John Flaherty, and Nick Petree our the frontrunners to secure that 5th starting spot. Wainwright, Wacha, Garcia, and Martinez anchor the other 4 spots in that order.

Probably the other biggest loss that we suffered was not being able to work out a deal with Jon Jay. Magnerius Sierra had a breakout year at Memphis last year and I wanted him to compete with Jay for the CF spot. Actually, I wanted Sierra to take it with Jay as a role player in case things didn't work out. But unfortunately, Jay accepted an offer with the Red Sox, so Sierra has to be the man. His speed is outstanding, he has a good stick, but his defense needs to come along. Left Field (Oswaldo Arcia) and Right Field (Jason Heyward) are anchored. We are looking for role players between the likes of Randal Grichuk, Tommy Pham, Stephen Piscotty, C.J. McElroy, and Alex Jackson. 2 of those 5 will make the roster and the other three will be your starters in Memphis.

In the infield we are anchored around the horn with Nolan Arenado at 3B, Simmons at SS, Matt Carpenter at 2B, and Matt Adams at 1B. What we needed is role players and we signed someone that could make Matt Adams pants get toasty if he struggles again this year after getting signed to a $3M a year deal for 4 years after the 2015 season. That someone is Justin Turner who was the NL Batting Champ in 2016. Why the Dodgers let him go and why he sit on the market with little interest until February is beyond me, but we signed him to 1 year at $1.3M so I'm extremely excited. The other spot is up for grabs but we have a slew of guys to compete for it: Pete Kozma, Greg Garcia, Carlos Sanchez, Ryan Jackson, and Stephen Piscotty who can play the corners.

Catching didn't change at all. Molina is the starter with Carson Kelly his backup. The depth is the same as last year.

So thats it. We are working this spring to fill some holes and then its off on the 2017 campaign to see if we can't find our way to the playoffs. I'm excited to get this year started, as I feel our lineup has some balance to it this year with contact and power and our defense is fairly strong, especially on the left side of the infield.

                            Now back to Spring Training!
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

It was a thrilling simmed finish to the 2015 season, from August to September. The Yanks started August 50-52, 1.5 games back of the 2nd WC spot. A rough August dropped the Bronx Bombers 2 games back. The Yanks rallied in September, and clinched a playoff berth at 81-80, with a few games to go. The Yanks, Orioles and Blue Jays were tied for the first few weeks for the second WC spot.

The Orioles clinched the second WC spot by beating the Yanks in the last week of the season. The Red Sox have a 20 game lead at 101-61. They traded for Nori Aoki, JA Happ,Brandon Belt (DL) and Matt Cain (DL) trading away Jackie Bradley Jr and Dustin Pedroia (Giants)

                              Yanks-
                              Gardner- .285, 9 homers, 175 hits, 43 RBI
                              Headley: .284, 17 homers, 135 hits, 62 RBI

Juan Francisco (signed in FA) .214, 5 homers, 59 hits, 30 RBI
                              Tex- .235, 16 HR, 115 hits, 54 RBI
                              McCann- .214, 25 homers, 104 hits, 61 RBI

                              Didi- .233, 11 HR, 111 hits, 50 RBI
Drew- .268, 11 HR, 80 hits, 44 RBI (pleasant surprise)

A-Rod- .185, 8 HR, 42 hits, 19 RBI (hurt throughout season, missed time)
Kyle Roller (rookie) .269, 3 HR 14 hits, 4 RBI
                              Brendan Ryan-.200, 2 HR, 26 hits, 11 RBI
                              Murphy- .159 (yikes) 0 HR, 22 hits, 8 RBI

Chris Young missed most of the season and is currently hurt (fractured wrist, out for playoffs) playing in just 59 games

Sabathia and Pineda got hurt: Pineda (fractured wrist, 3-4 weeks) only played in 12 games (3-5, 4.68 ERA) while Sabathia is down with a fractured arm. He'll miss the postseason. He played in 27 games, went 6-9, struck out 130 and recorded a 3.36 ERA, which isn't bad.

The lineup post above is the playoff lineup, pending adjustments.

                              Rotation-
Tanaka: 13-10, 3.30 ERA, 223 K, 54 walks (awesome season, pitched 207 innings, ironically he went 13-5 last year)

Adam Warren- 12-8, 3.23 ERA, 188 Ks, 62 walks (awesome surprise, pitched 206 innings, 1.27 WHIP is lower than Tanaka (1.4-something) and allowed a lower BA (2.49 to Tanaka's 2.51) held lefties to a .239 AVG,

Eovaldi- 6-10, 3.20 ERA, 84 Ks, 41 walks. Not great, pretty decent, better than 2014 with the Marlins. Pitched 157 innings, only allowiing 165 hits, 19 homers (lower than Warren's 24)
Ivan Nova- 7-2, 3.56, 60 K, 24 walks. Great return for Nova after coming back from TJ. He was 5-0 with a 2 ERA at one point. Much better than his 2014 season. Only has 83 IP so far. Lefties hit .294 against him while righties hit .248.

Luis Servrino- 5-3, 3.73, 57 Ks, 21 walks. Solid debut for Severino, pitched 70 innings. Held lefties to a .235 average. Only allowed 9 HR (lowest of rotation.)

                              BP-
                              Shreve- 5-4, 3.81 ERA, 2 saves, 82 K, 37 walks. 75.2 innings, 51 games, held lefties to a.227 average.

Justin Wilson-2-5, 2.61, 1 save, 59 Ks, 36 BB (look past the win-loss column and Wilson had a great year. Much better than 2014. 62 IP, 39 games, only allowed 4 HR,held opponents to a .178 average (wow) (.096 against lefties.)

                              David Carpenter- 4-5, 3.09 ERA, 80 K, 26 BB (not great, but decent-good. 75 IP, 57 games, 1.07 WHIP, held opponents to .204 average, .196 against righties)

Miller had a great debut season for the Bronx. He and Betances rotated as closer.

                              Miller- 5-3, 2.91 ERA, 12 saves, 58 Ks, 13 BB (46.1 IP, 46 games, held righties to a .213 AVG but lefties hit .300.)

                              Betances bounced back from a rough start, finishing 3-4, 2.83 ERA, 33 saves, 80 K, 21 BB (70 IP, 61 games, helf batters to a .226 (.203 against lefties.)

We finished 81-81, tied with the Orioles for second in the East. We face them in the WC round (we have home field advantage.) They have a powerful offense with De Aza (11) Machado (17) Jones (23) and especially Davis (31) HRs. Pierce (18), Young (11) and especially Schoop (20) HRS add power to the bottom of the lineup. Travis Snider is on the bench but he hit 21 homers.

Chris Tillman will take the mound in the WC game. He went 14-12 with a 3.76 ERA, 137 Ks and 79 walks. He held opponents to a .249 AVG (.215 against righties.) Tommy Hunter and Brian Matusz (3-0, 2.08 ERA. .193 average) are dangerous relievers, as is Darren O0Day (5-1, 1.54 ERA, 75 K,s 13 BB, .191 AVG)

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

New York Mets 2015- 97-65(I play one then sim 5) have won the NL East for the first time in a while. The division was basically decided back in May when they took a 15 lead over the Nats and never looked back, Nats finished in 2nd with an even .500 record. Pitching was the focal point for this team with deGrom winning MVP and CY young. We will be playing the Cardinals in the first round of the playoffs, no easy task. On the offensive side the Mets received big production from Wright, and Cespedes like expected. Bullpen under-performed except Familia. The playoff rotation will include Harvey, deGrom, Syndergaard, and Matz.(Colon declined to a 60 ovr, so i optioned him to AAA, and Niese was moved to bullpen.)
Below are the 2015 stats for the Mets.
