I do a 6 team franchise as to not get sick of one certain team and start over. One from each division. Thinking about putting myself through hell and to do a 6 team fantasy draft as well. Thinking for AL it'll be Houston, Toronto and MN/CLV. For NL it'll be SF/CN/PHI. Will post results when I do it

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
Infante might be decent. Ironic, I passed him by and got DeShields, Jr. later than this. Funny how he's gone for you by the 12th round
Suarez - in real life (and OOTP) he might worth trying to convert into a 2B, especially if he has an average SS's range (that's plenty for 2B). In MLBTS...no such luck unless you want to edit it in. Game not that deep in regards to positions, unfortunately - more the standard "video game positions are set in stone" approach.
Turner - if you need a SS, I might would grab him unless Simmons is still around. Otherwise, maybe wait on him and see if he falls.
K. Hernandez - his 55 speed would be much less of an issue than it would be in CF, especially if you play in a spacious CF. His ratings should play better at 2B than CF. If I took him at "CF", he'd be in LF or RF with that lack of speed.
Santana - would be interesting idea. I could see why you are interested in him at 2B. If you're wanting a 2B here, I think either Santana or Infante would be the best choices with K. Hernandez not far behind if you move him to 2B. You might could get Turner later if teams already have their SS.Last edited by KBLover; 05-01-2016, 02:41 PM."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
...and I gotta say, it's by FAR the best team I've ever assembled up to this point (Round 28 right now). I'm very excited about this team, and can't wait to finish up this draft. But I want to take the time to do it well, all 90 rounds, even if it means taking some breaks throughout, to take some air, or even watch more videos to make a choice.
Like right now, I'm struggling to chose between Lucas Giolito and Alex Reyes. So I loaded 5 video of each, and will make my decision according to that (and the current ratings of course). That's how I settled the Giles/Herrera dilemma I had. Watching Giles (here's a scoop) on Youtube, I fell in love with him. Boy that guy is intense !Comment

Simmons (unless you're talking about a different one than Andrelton) is long gone unfortunately at this point. Pick is done already, you'll see what I went with probably later on this evening.Comment

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
Not sure what you mean by "list method", but I have a big board, sorted by position. But this time, I tried to pay a little more attention to how each player would fit in the team, rather than "picking the player I liked the most". Where they would fit in the line-up, what kind of flexibility would that give me on the field, balance RHB and LHB, offense and defense, etc.

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
I'm considering the same. Every draft I've done I've loaded up on batters. Rather than being more balanced. Just not sure what watching videos of prospects and stuff does, however I'd love to attempt something like thisComment

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
I've always managed to stay balanced. My concern is I want to spend more time looking at specific ratings i.e. Velocity, contact, arm strength. Stuff like that for my deep minors and what not. I don't like finess pitchers per say so a 57 rp with higher velo is worth more to me than a 63 with better control. I'll probably try and draft almost the same team, (major league wise) but do better on my minors. And than I'm done, cause I love this starting squad.MLB The Show 20

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
But it adds somekind of sentimental value for me. Like I said, I was previously struggling to make a choice between Ken Giles and Kelvin Herrera. I'd be tempted to say that Herrera had better ratings, mostly because of his pitching clutch...however, watching Giles on video, I quickly decided he was the guy I wanted. So intense and competitive...the video I watched from Herrera was him against Oakland's Brett Lawrie. Not the kind of pitcher I want on my team.Comment

It doesn't do much in terms of the game itself...though, as someone living in Montreal who doesn't get to watch tons of MLB coverage, I'm surely learning a lot about different players.

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
It took me forever to decide between Giolito and Reyes, but that pick is done now. Round 38. It should start to go a little faster now, as the most promising prospects are being taken left and right. Pretty soon, it'll be just a matter of filling the minor league so that my best prospect are playing at the right level for them.
I hope to be able to post the complete team around 7pm.Comment

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
Ok guys I went with the San Diego Padres...it was close between them and the Miami Marlins but I just like SD's jerseys for all occasions more.
So I am using OSFM V2.5. Classic Pitching. Auto-Fielding but I do the throws...with no throw meter.
Now on to the draft............drumroll......we get to select................27th overall.....ugh oh no.....well that is the card we are dealt.
Here is the team I end up with at the MLB level as I did select all 90 rounds.
Starting Rotation
1. Chris Archer
2. Noah Syndergaard
3. James Shields
4. Tyler Skaggs (L)
5. Tyler Glasnow
Line Up
1. Byron Buxton - CF
2. Devon Travis - 2B
3. Freddie Freeman - 1B
4. Kris Bryant - 3B
5. Yasiel Puig - RF
6. Jorge Soler - LF
7. Travis d'Arnaud - C
8. Adeiny Hechavarria - SS
Bullpen
1. Zach McAllister - LRP
2. Joey Donofrio - LRP
3. Corey Knebel - RP
4. Chad Qualls - RP
5. Javier Lopez (L) - RP
6. Fernando Rodney - SU
7. Kevin Siegrist (L) - SU
8. Jason Grilli - CP
Bench
1. A.J. Pierzynski - C
2. Mike Aviles - 2B
3. Chris Coghlan - CF
4. Nick Swisher - 1B
Prospect/Notables in Minors
1. Kendall Graveman - SP
2. Carson Fulmer - SP
3. Jorge Polanco - SS
4. Dansby Swanson - SS
I like my rotation a lot and I don't mind my line-up but I am RH batter heavy so I will be looking to move either Puig or Soler for a LH OF.
My bully is just ok. If i can get a better closer and drop everyone down one in their role the pen would be decent.
Bench...pretty weak overall.
So what is the best way to set-up the 40-man roster....i turned injuries off and simmed to the last day of Spring Training. Do i sim the game and then set the 40-man after?
Any thoughts on if I should deal Puig or Soler? Looking for a lefty bat at the same position.
I'm thinking I should put both on the block. I am going to start playing tonight.
