Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

I have hit one heck of a slow streak. Made a 1B, got moved to LF. Was hitting around .330 in mid May, and am now down to .280 beginning of July. Talk about frustrating! Was drafted mid-1st round by SF. Would love to start hitting again!

So question for you all. How often do you spend your TP? Personally I wait till the end of the month so I can spread them around. Also for those taking screenshots is there a way I can see them from my phone and save them like on my Xbox?

Plus I wish the manager would ask for a double steal, or hit and run. Hopefully next year they add those. But the game is awesome..
I've actually scored from 3rd with a steal attempt at 1st. Not sure how I did it. I think you need to be quick to push the stick to advance base during the throwing motion by the catcher.

Yeah, I do not know if it will have a lasting impact but I am not accepting any request to change positions.

If it has a long term negative effect I will be upset. I am hoping it will be more like turning down a team after the draft. It seemed to have little impact the following year.

It's definitely there. You do the first year and you have no choice coming out of HS. So if you don't get drafted by who you want there you go in again.

After the JUCO year and doing the Showcase again, I saw an option where you usually see equipment to choose the team you'd like to get drafted by.

            And it worked.

I am so freaking sick of lining out to infielders. I'd MUCH rather ground out because at least they have to work a little harder to get me out.

And yes, I use button hitting.

My brother, I appreciate the response. Can you PM me? I did everything you mentioned and I still can't get that option. I'm going to start over and if I don't get drafted by my preferred team, I'll go back to college for a year, play the scout day, and play both games. I did that, but after the second game, it goes into me speaking to my agent and him asking if I'm ready for the draft. I say yes, I even picked the other option that said "I guess I'm ready", and once I choose one, it goes straight to the draft. I don't even know why they took this feature out.

                Again, I appreciate your response.

I usually spend them after every series. I always sim 3 games, play 2 in a 5 game series.

I'll keep on trying but twice so far I dove back to 3rd base.. Or I should say the CPU made me .. This right after the guy on first attempted the steal, and before the C threw it.. By the time the 2B had the ball I was just getting up from the ground.

But I was hoping with a guy on 1st and 2nd the manager would say "double steal."

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

I started a RTTS and made myself a power hitting SS.

Did pretty good in the showcase and ended up going 1st Rd to the white sox.

Played my 1st series and ended up hitting grand slams for my 1st 2 home runs of the season. Each one came back to back games. Even had back to back homers in the 2nd game.

So far the pyp is pretty cool. I played it conservative when answering questions. Hopefully it keeps getting better!

Apparently i was only in the rotation because of an injury, so after my third start i was moved to the bullpen as a long relief pitcher. Kind of frustrated by this but oh well.

Side Note: I have noticed our outfielders are really passive. A lot of balls are landing right in front of my outfielders with no dive or lunge attempt to try and catch the ball. Very frustrating because these lead to runs being scored when we should be out of the inning. Anyone else doing a pitcher RTTS and have experienced this.
Forgot to mention this in the post above. After my 15 K performance , my pitching coach approached me and tipped his cap. I told him to keep his hat on before his hair falls off (not the exact quote. I cant remembr off the top of my head). He then told me to take the zip in my mouth and add it to my fastball

Thought I would share my RTTS experience thus far. I am a high velocity Starting Pitcher that was drafted by the Yankees in the 2nd round. I was pitching lights out through the first two months of AA ball and then they made me a closer for 2.5 weeks, in which I also succeeded. Eventually they turned me back into a Starting Pitcher and I continued to have success.

By the All Star break I was called up to AAA. After 5 good outings I was then called up to The Show in August. By this time my pitching difficulty (Dynamic) was on Hall of Fame. I have pitched one game against the Indians and my line was 5.1 IP 6 H 6 SO 0 ER and 0 BB in a no decision game. Not bad right? I am typically better at batting then pitching in this game so this has been a surprising achievement for me thus far.

Question for the group. Anyone else noticed that in AA and AAA they pull you after 5 innings unless you have a shutout going? Then they don't pull you until you give up a run. Is that normal?

Sounds like this is an issue throughout all modes of the game:

and my biggest pet peeve is back (see signature): the announcers do not call out that you're leading the league in any offensive category

in real life, if a guy is leading the league in homeruns, RBI, hits, batting average, they acknowledge it

they use to in MLB the show, vasgersian would acknowledge you being the triple crown leader or leading the league in hits, homeruns, or RBI - it's been gone from the franchise for years with no explanation as to why

the glitch is in the player lock system - SCEA devs please look into this, its in the player lock. trust me.
