My rtts character had no training sessions until I backed out mid series and tried to go back in, then I got a cutscene about an instructor coming in to help me. I think I would've missed this if I hadn't backed out mid series on my own

Skimmed through this thread--will be starting my RTTS this weekend once OSFM drop.

Seems most (if not all?) are being asked to change positions. Question is, can you tell them no? If so, why aren't more doing that? From what I can tell, players are getting asked to me temporarily--and not ever moving back?

I'm pretty sure it's not possible. Have found some old reddit posts from last year where people were complaining about not being able to actually view transactions both in season and offseason. It's not a gamebreaker....but you would think someone would figure out that's a pretty big deal. You could do it at one time and I think it's changed in last couple versions

No it doesn't adjust. Although the hotzones do which is cool.

You can tell them know but it seems like two things will happen.
            1-you get benched.
            2-they move you anyway.
Now for me when I made the switch from RF to 1B it was only a trial period and I got moved back to RF after 10-15 games. It was fun because i had never played infield before though. The bright side

In my case I created a CF. Was asked to temporarily move to 2B. I did for about a series or 2 and then was thanked for being willing to help team and moved back to CF. I played some at CF but almost exclusively DH'd. Played at CF till just before my call up to majors (went AA straight to majors) and was advised by my manager was being moved to 2B permanently. I'm currently the starting 2B for the Mariners and have never had option since to move back to CF. My listed secondary position was any OF position. I don't mind the move....as I like to play 2B and SS as well.... but it would seem that to prevent it from happening to you that you need to raise hell everytime they suggest you play elsewhere.

Just a tip for people struggling to get a starting position or more playing time.

Change your secondary position to something the team needs.

I made it to the big leagues then got bumped back to the AAA. I didn't think I did THAT bad, considering I was only pinch hitting and running.
I was one of the highest rated AAA players for about two seasons with the Pirates. I checked the MLB roster and the outfield positions and SS were pretty stacked, so I changed my secondary position to 1st and 3rd base, which at least got me on the field more. From there I was able to eventually work my way into the batting lineup.

Yes, but you may be benched and or traded. Agent will get involved

I am really annoyed at what has happened in my RTTS.

Created a SS and got drafted by the Marlins.

Loved the whole storyline mode, especially getting benched for refusing to play at 3B.

Got myself back in AA team, was itting .372 and lead league in RBI's

Just after all star game, I had meeting with manager.

He said i was being promoted. I thought cool, thats about right, Im 66 OVR and AAA will be good test.

Nope, straight into Marlins Starting lineup because they traded away the starting SS.

Total immersion ruined. Im 66 OVR 18yr old chump playing in major league wit players 77+ovr.

Thats far too quick promotion and its making me want to restart.

They need to patch progression imho

I think they need to provide more options to your exchanges that account for all of the actions made. It seems it only recognizes the last action made in your career

Before the game was released after all the RTTS previews I was pretty vocal that I was apprehensive about the change position aspect of Pave Your Path. It seemed every preview had a player who was asked to change positions.
I stated my fear at that point that it seemed to happen way too often and almost felt scripted to happen even though they say it is non linear.

Now 10 days in we have pages and pages of gamers saying that they were asked to change positions and never made it back to their original position. I also see reports that people are being forced to switch against their will.

This is awful in my opinion. As someone who has played RTTS for around a decade I have spent significant time playing 1B, 2B, CF and staring pitcher. I still have a active CF and SP. I started a new SS because it is a position I have never played. If it moves me to a position that I do not want then the character will be deleted and the mode will only be used for my carryover players.

I was scared of this Pave Your Path mode and my fears seem to be justified.

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

My RTTS Experience. Played on HOF, No Guess Pitch or any other extras. Kept the sliders default.

So I started my RTTS with the latest OS roster I could find in 16. I also had 99K stubs there that would officially go to waste so I converted them all into skill points for my new RTTS player. I used roughly 20K. Once the player was created (CF) I uploaded the RTTS to 17. Edited his appearance and everything else there. Played the drills and the showcase and got drafted in the first round by CLE.

I hit .400 in double A and got selected to the futures game and the AA all star game. Just after that point I got called up straight from AA to the MLB. While in AA I was asked to switch positions (which I said I was open to). Coach stuck me in right for about 10 games and put me back in center once that period was over.

The jump from AA to the majors was night and day. I struggled (IMO) in the majors after the call up and finished the season .286/.355/.590 with 22 HR's, 53 RBI's in 67 games. We won the division and got to the ALCS where we played Boston. I hit around .350 in the playoffs if I remember correctly but we lost in 7 games to BOS (i'm a real life Yankee fan so you already know how I felt).

Moved on to year two and I started to get use to the game at the major league level. Won MVP/Silver Slugger/Batting Title. Also won a triple crown (game doesn't recognize it). Slashed .341/.423/.709 (59HR, 181RBI)(80BB, 46SO). I stole 49 bases and missed 50/50 by one lol. Went on to hit close to .400 in the playoffs. Won Playoff MVP (Lindor won WS MVP). We won the WS over the Mets in 5 games.

I'm now in the beginning of the third season. Second of a 5 year 30 Mil contract I signed after my rookie year. I have asked my agent to move me (I like CLE but they are stacked and I do really want to try and get on my Hometown Yankees). My best friend who is just a little ahead of me got drafted by ARI and has been traded twice (at his request) to OAK, and then to PIT. CLE has shown a reluctance to trade me and I don't think that's changing anytime soon.

All in All i've enjoyed my time in RTTS and intend on spending a lot more time there.

Sounds like perfect timing for you. A chance to prove yourself. Others can't even get in the Majors, because their position is too deep.

Give it time, you'll probably get sent back down anyway.

I think it's tied to trade logic honestly. You have a young up and comer, why trade for a young MLB player at that position. Why not sign an old veteran at that position?
