Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

Recently started a rtts SP. Went with the 4 seam, circle change, and slider to start, got drafted by the reds 3rd overall and dominating in double A so far. Just trying to plan ahead a little bit but trying to decide what other pitches i want to add when i get to that point. i was thinking about going with a cutter next, followed by adding a curveball.

    Any suggestions?

Traded away Felix Hernandez and some other guys and ended up with Kluber and Michael Brantley. Lineup is crazy good ....but relief pitching and closer are the weakness.

      Lineup is ....

      Michael Brantley
      Travis Jankowski
      My Player
      Manny Machado
      Dansby Swanson
      Freddie Freeman
      Josh Harrison/Ozzie Albeis
      Hector Sanchez/Brantly

Ender Inciarte is also on the DL for the season with a bulging disk.

      Pitching....

      Corey Kluber
      Folty
      Aaron Blair
      Kendall Graveman
      A prospect (can't remember name)

Won 100 games 2 years in a row and got bounced in the NLDS and then the World Series by the Indians. Hoping this is the season we put it all together. I'm in early September with a 4 game lead in the division over the Nationals.

Yeah I definitely don't like that you can't see transactions. I hate when I'm on a roll playing and then I get a notification that there has been a roster move to go back to the main menu. I'd like to see what move they made. Seems like the CPU makes a ton of trades too. The M's roster is completely different going into 2018.

I haven't experimented with it personally, but I've seen good feedback on adjusting the CPU trade slider that is in the sliders. Some have scaled it back some with good results and been able to keep prospects, players, etc in place longer that you want to play with. I'm going to try it on another RTTS that I'll start eventually.

I would add a sinking pitch unless you build a dominant fast ball ; something along the lines of a sinker/ splitter

          That's just my opinion

I have one question that I may find an answer too before a reply comes.. but when you do RTTS starting up. When you choose the option "Choose an existing MLB player"
Can you create a player and put him on a MLB roster then select that player?
That way you could give him freelance customization and skill variety

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

Tigers just asked me to move first base. I said I do it with hesitation. The major league roster is stacked with outfielders so I hope to get traded. They have Matt Kemp, Justin Upton, Michael Conforto, Jarrod Dyson, Cameron Maybin & JD Martinez. But I'm stuck behind Cabrera at first. It's the most boring position to play in this game other than catcher. Plus my fielding, speed & arm are outstanding. I would rather have moved to shortstop or third.

I'll have to check that out. I didn't even look at the sliders much. Thanks!

Your player is modeled after whatever MLB player you choose. My guy is modeled after manny machado. Has his stance and tendencies. Basically a quicker way to create your player.

How do you get a notification there has been a roster move? Haven't seen this in this years game. In years past a screen used to pop up saying you team has traded someone and lists the players in involved.

Just had the craziest RTTS game ever. 20-11 Twins lose to the Blue Jays. Toronto hit EIGHT HOME RUNS as a team with Kevin Pillar hitting three and Devon Travis hitting two! I hit two home runs, Brian Dozier and Eduardo Escobar hit one each.

After playing a game it'll pop up on the screen and tell me there has been a roster move. So I have to go back into the main menu. But you can't see what move the team made. I wish we could.

I, like everyone else, is frustrated about not being able to see the transactions. It made no sense for them to remove this feature.

After the Indians won the World Series against the Dodgers in 2019. The Indians decided to trade away Kluber and get a new club manager. I was so pissed about the Indians trading away Kluber. I almost started a new RTTS.

This is why I try to never play on my team. I would be the same if the Braves traded Freeman. But if I'm on the Diamondbacks, I don't care what happens

Yes I mistakenly took it as "select an existing MLB player" I was so disappointed that it was model after a player LOL any what I did was just create a player and start a franchise where I play "Player lock" with my CAP ; no double A ; triple A junk while I wait for the 2.0 and hybrid rosters.

Enjoying this with mike lowes 2.0 sliders ; hit variety makes my CF experience fun..

Using an existing player for the basis of your RTTS player does allow you to exceed the arbitrary weight limits placed on created players. You can always go in and choose different animations and equipment to further distinguish your player from the real one too.
