Honestly, for the majority of the career, I have been using base sliders with some edits to pitch speed. So much of my success has come from plate discipline and getting my pitch. The only gripe that I have is on defense how often the CPU bunts in the absolute dumbest of situations. Two outs runners on the corners, five hitter up and he bunts. Not sure what if any sliders can help this as I haven't researched it much but for the most part my sliders haven't been changed a ton.

(I did give a test period with one of TNK's sliders but couldn't hit the broad side of a barn for about two weeks so I figured I'd give them a better test in franchise first)

Why does my number always change when I'm the highest rated player on my team? Why did my position change and I can't play my original position? And is there anyway to get traded to a team I want? Ex: I wanna be with my cardinals. Thanks

For those of you who do RTTS and franchise? How do you balance it? And for RTTS do you guys do the fielding scenarios as well? Or just batting? I've seen where some people sim a series and play a series. Does anyone play every game?

I play one game a series (unless I really like hitting there), and every playoff game. Some fielding, lead runner baserunning. I get through about a season every 2 weeks, I don't play that much.

Re: Official MLB 17 : Road to the Show Thread

Hey all, been a little busy to update ya'll on my career, but here's an update after my age 33 and 34 seasons.
Age 33 season, year 2031, was a spectacular year for me, not so for the Mariners. Missed the playoffs for the 3rd straight year. Thus, requested a trade after the season and was dealt to Arizona. 2032 with Arizona resulted in my 2nd World Series Championship, after a 2028 title with Seattle and winning the NL West at 91-71. My approach was lost most of my first season in the desert, making it my worst year in 9 years. Oh well, Championship. Here's the numbers.

            2031, Age 33, Mariners LF OVR 99
            618 ABs - 193 Hs - 33 HRs - 107 RBI - .312/.373/.526 - 62 BB/90 K - 6.9 WAR

            2032, Age 34, Diamondbacks LF OVR 99
            635 ABs - 176 Hs - 31 HRs - 75 RBI - .278/.340/.485 - 63 BB/63 K - 5.2 WAR

Looks like im on the road to the hall of fame as I'm at all this entering my age 35 seasons:
            69 WAR - .275/.358/.491 - 435 HRs - 1291 RBI - 2189 Hs
            11 All-Star Selections
            2 time World Series Champ
            5 Gold Gloves

Fielding I only do situations I'm involved in. Base running I do half of each at bat, just to try to get steals etc. I don't really have a sim rule, I just wait until I'm struggling at the plate then I sim like 2 weeks lol. I also tend to sim inter league play

There are two teams I always avoid being drafted by because I hate their stadiums. The Rays & A's. My centerfielder who was drafted by the Tigers was traded to Oakland. My shortstop who was drafted by the Cardinals was traded to Tampa Bay.

I hate those stadiums too. One thing that I do to prevent unwanted trades is save often during the month of July. If something happens that is a deal breaker just load that save and try again, it usually works. Or, you could always request a trade, or be a real pain in the *** at contract time and power through to free agency, then do what you want. I feel your pain though.

As an A's fan and having been to many a game there I can't be mad, because the Coliseum sucks in real life, but with the new lighting system in place this thing actually looks pretty at very specific times of day.

Having spent 11 of the 19 years on my rtts career in Chicago (Sox) and Detroit, if I never have to play in those two stadiums again I'll be a happy man.

Max Powers finally gets called up to the Twins, and everyone of Value has been traded for trash. This was an incredibly annoying, seeing as Sano and Dozier were traded to a team with 3B and 2B as solid, deep positions and they got back a Middle rotation pitcher and a hitter who can't hit

Starting a new RTTS. SS Willie Rollins. 5'9, 168, super fast contact hitter with a great glove. Wanted to do something different from the power hitting corner outfielder I usually do. Used the stubs from my RTTS on 16 to start him out, he's a 73 overall, started him at age 20. Drafted by the Red Sox in round 1. He may have to move to second, seeing as we have Bogaerts. I want this guy to be a great leadoff hitter.

3rd basemen drafted by the Yankees in the 1st round. Made it to AAA by early June and then Called up the big leagues by the end of July. I got benched 4 games into my first stay with the Yankees for comments that I made in AAA. Watched my average go from .260 to .148. I can't hit a ball to save my life.
