50 innings wont be hard for Pujols to top in 2018.
Where that leaves Cron and Valbuena, is the unknown.

Valbuena becomes the utility guy. Cron probably platoons with Ohtani at DH and spells Pujols at 1B.

There's been a lot of speculation that Cron will likely get traded or DFAd before opening day, but they're holding on to him for now in case of an injury to either Valbuena or Pujols.

By end of season I expect Ohtani north of 300 PA’s and 150 innings. I think you guys are underestimating NPB and Ohtani’s ability to be a star lol.

I think he has great potential at pitcher. If that doesnt pan out, I think he has good potential as a hitter.
Where my doubt lies is his (and ANYONE not named Ruth) ability to contend for a batting title and a Cy Young.

Probably 3 days a week actually, since it's been heavily implied that the Angels will likely go with a 6 man rotation this year. Which is another thing I'm not sure we're able to do in game.

Not sure how they can do a 6 man rotation when the 5 they already have can't stay healthy.

You can do it in the game,

but you would have to do it manually, just simply put your 6th starter in the BP and spot start him when the game starts. It will screw the schedule around I know, but you just have to manually do this it;'s the only way to get a 6 man rotation working, so on that 6th day instead of your Ace starting it will be your spot start. then move your rotation order after that 6th start down a slot, so your Ace is now in the number 2 hole. like musical chairs. it's the only solution for now not sure how you would do it for the CPU teams though once again might have to manually do that with another controller then switch it back.

also I don't think the Angels can pull of a 6 man rotation anyway, they just have a injury curse going on with starters. injuries always happen which is why I don't see any team ever be able to pull it off

Well the idea is that the starters will have more rest and fewer starts which could lead to fewer injuries. Also the fact that since they all missed time last year, none of them can be counted on for 200 innings, so this is just a way to spread those remaining innings around. The last reason is that it would be an easier transition for Ohtani, since in NPB pitchers typically only pitch once a week with 6 days rest. The Angels actually have decent depth at SP right now with about 9 viable options, only two of which are out of options. So it could work, assuming they don't have as bad of luck with injuries as they've had the past couple years.

I know the reasoning for the 6 man rotation. I wasn't questioning that. I question it actually working since they can't stay healthy. Even on 6 days rest pitchers are still going to get injured. Ohtani himself is coming in with elbow issues. We'll see though. Texas is also trying to utilize a 6 man rotation as well.

They might as well try something. A 5 man rotation isn't going to work any better if injuries happen.

I am over the whole 'workload has more of a chance of causing less injury'

It's a complete Myth, the nationals paid for it in 2012. and look the Mets proved with Matt Harvey you can be careful as you can with a player and they still need TJ surgery

Injuries will happen regardless teams should stop this shutting down players in September rubbish it makes no difference.
