Re: Shohei Otani in The Show
I feel they’ll figure something out. He’s not the only one.
I think the guy from the Gameplay trailer was a hitter and pitcher.
Mr. Babe Ruth.
And as someone previously mentioned a TB Ray prospect, is a 1B/P highly touted prospect.
And this past draft Hunter Greene was drafted as a P/SS.
Gotta be something implemented to accommodate Ohtani and Ruth

Re: Shohei Otani in The Show
here is the problem with implementing this.
Say Otani is starting and chosen as a starter then you get to the lineup screen, Otani shows up there as well.
technically he could Pitch a game and start in the lineup in the game as well. the moment they allow us to put pitchers into DH role or into the lineup it screws the entire coding of the game.
a code would have to be put in so that if someone is a starter they won't show up in the lineup screen.
the fact that Otani will be a exportable player too, means we could make any player we want a 2 way player if they do put this in the game.Comment

Re: Shohei Otani in The Show
It could just be as easy as letting all pitchers that aren't the current starting pitcher show up on the lineup screen. It'll look a little messy, but it'll get the job done.Comment

Re: Shohei Otani in The Show
So we should not say anything and potentially be stuck with whatever ends up happening for all next year, and not talk about possible solutions on a forum that the developers frequent and could potentially implement before the game is finished?Comment

Re: Shohei Otani in The Show
I just gave my vote. Doesn't matter to me either way.
There is a LOT of weird speculation in this thread about programming and what is easy/not easy to do (from both sides).
You're free to keep speculating all you want, just think it may be easier to just wait and either complain or rejoice later. They already know what the wish is for this.Comment

Re: Shohei Otani in The Show
if we just got a simple yes or no today in the stream because it was asked 100 times. then we wouldn't have to keep speculating about it. I mean we got the answer about create a stadium for god sake and that is a franchise question.
It shouldn't be a big secret it's not going to be the difference to someone buying or not buying the game.Comment

1. Legal issues surrounding the situation
We all know that the player has to be a part of the players association to be included in the game and Otani has never played a game yet. So I think right there it tells us its a "No". However, what intrigues me is that they not only have his stance in the game and its listed under his name tells me that something might be different regarding him and the rest of the players coming over from other leagues in the past.
2. They are working on the implementation of 2 way players and aren't ready to say either way.Comment

There is probably a good reason they just ignored the question. 2 possible ones
