The red laser better be the 'red-orange' wavelength of 635 nm, and not the cheap pointer red of 650 nm. I will have you know, my contrast is on point and has been calibrated by senior Geek Squad engineers, so do not even come at me with that excuse either.

I'm in favor of a cheat code to change baseball bats into lightsabers. Just make sure you get Mace Windu's purple color in the game, please.

People looking for a true simulation may not want to use these in their franchise, season, or whatnot, but I can definitely see an audience that only plays RTTS or DD and that is looking for a more arcade/casual experience having a blast with these.

There is a broader audience at play than just the true hardcore sim gamer.
I want complete authenticity for franchise mode but i like to ball out and hit 400HR a season in RTTS and these bat flips make me extremely happy because good sportsmanship is a scam. if i hit a home run 480ft i'm gonna show up my opponents grab my nuts once i hit home plate cause I play on beginner and have the best equipment and i force pitchers to throw fastballs down the middle every pitch

For those of you being so serious about how it causes brawls in real life. calm down. it is a video game and they don't allow brawls cause it encourages it those players of the game. it is something that MLB wants to take out of game cause it is a harm to players/coaches. if you're mad about a bat flip maybe you shouldn't have that meatball over the plate for me to blast into the third deck. i'm personally tired of all the animations and love the new bat flips and the craziness of them. it isn't even that unrealistic anyway. look up the best bat flips on youtube. if you don't like someone doing the bat flip on you just hit them with a pitch in the good ol noggin

In all seriousness though, bat flips and such are fun in game, but I coach varsity baseball and the kids watch sportcenter and play this game.

Just had to scold a kid yesterday in bp for hitting a ball and flipping the bat and making a spectacle.

I have no problem showing emotion but when you see kids go over the top in celebrations and flipping bats on doubles makes me think....

How much time did they spend on bat flips?

Just curious since you seem to know that time spent and how that time could be used to fix everything else.

                      Needed?

I don't see any of the things you mention as needed. They might be nice but I honestly have never even heard about them as being issues before now. Most gamers who play this game have probably not noticed a single one of those things.

Yes, that has always been my concern. Choreographed motion versus spontaneous motion, and also celebrating versus taunting.

I was always funny as a pitcher, in that if a ball was hit in the air and to the outfield, it took me maybe 2-3 seconds to even turn around and watch what was to happen on the play. Mostly it was because I was processing where I had to go next (specifically if I had to back up third or home). However, this also allowed me to watch the hitter. Not that many had something worth celebrating.

Actually, there is still one where a player had my number. There was a summer travel tournament in Monterey, and this lefty beast from Watsonville just demolished it to right field. I never did watch it go out, but I did hear it hit a leafy tree. Upon investigating it, that area of the tree was at least 50 feet off the ground. It was just a moonshot. Anyway, my catcher still says the story to this day about how immediately after it was hit, I stared right at the umpire and raised my glove up trying to demand another ball from him.

                        But I digress...

These are fun and wacky, and no doubt I will use some just to watch how ridiculous they are. I think this is right for the game (the video game, not the sport). Normally you wouldn't hear me say something like that, but in the context and in the MLB's current environment, it seems fitting.

I like it.  Adds fun and energy to an already excellent video game series.   Now if they would just give us a completely alternate announcing team and give us a Weekly Highlight Show!

There is nothing wrong with kids having fun. The problem is they imitate what they see on sportcenter and the game.

There is nothing worst than seeing someone hot dog some extravagant choreographed motion. I know I have seen umpires and teams call kids out for it. Some league rules even call for automatic out for "throwing the bat."

Would it be ok for a kid to do cartwheels after a 3 point shot or homerun down 1?

My only point is having fun is great, but when you go over the top and kids see it in a videogame they unfortunately imitate in real life.
