Huh? I'm reading thru this thread and seeing a TON of constructive criticism going unanswered. Who is "haunting" the forum, lol. From what I'm reading the game appears to be getting ripped to shreds without much fuss. So someone comes along and rebutts and they're trying to run people off? C'mon.....Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Twitch Stream Starting Now - Franchise Mode
This is part of the issue. Expectations. Create a stadium has been mentioned that if added, will be the ONLY thing we get because of the resources.
There is simply too much to fix for that to be the only thing changed next year.
Millineum did a wonderful job explaining this in his franchise stream last night. It’s not easy like 2K and Madden because baseball field dimensions are so much more important and each field is different.
If there is ONE thing that NEEDS to be 100% priority number 1, it is Interleague Schedule Rotation, I don’t see how it couldn’t be.
But I'm sorry, saying that the customers and fan base are to blame because they have "expectations", which I never stated I expect us to get those features. As a matter of fact, I didn't. I simply stated "maybe we'll get." I also didn't attack the game or its developers. I plan to buy the game.
But I refuse to stop having expectations or wishlists and just accept some things are out of reach. They may very well be. But what is out of reach one year isn't the next because they've played with the build for a few years. That's how they get around it.
I'm sure you didn't mean it has it sounded in your response and I hope you don't see this an attack. Having no tone is a problem with online message boards, texts and other things in general. But I wanted to clarify my thoughts and express I will never stop having expectations. I plan to put out my usual wishlist after the game is released as well. Talking about things I want in the game is part of the fun for me.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Twitch Stream Starting Now - Franchise Mode
This logic of "the more people play franchise, the more they would put resources towards it" as well as these new menus will make more people play franchise, these things are said as a matter of fact and I just don't see it that way at all. That is a pacification easy to conclude pipe dream. Either you have an affinity towards the mode or you don't, franchise is a grind and it's a particular type of gamer that will grind in a sports game. Most sports gamers are "play now". Your menus will not change that.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Twitch Stream Starting Now - Franchise Mode
It is already explained with the offseason calendar and the email explaining transactions you get when you start your franchise. This may make it more user friendly but it is already in the game and since it accurately replicates what happens in MLB you can use the internet to research anything you are confused about.≡Comment

I'm curious as to how the minor league balancing and the "out of position" logic are going to work with carryover saves.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

People are saying that Phases are to help people better understand MLB regular season and offseason tasks, but that's not the case. It just brings the tasks forefront, but if you didn't understand them before, you still won't now unless you Google them.
Even the Help that you can get in game, doesn't give you a clear understanding of the rules of the game. It kinda just gives you the basic definition.
I had to google most of them years ago to figure it out.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Twitch Stream Starting Now - Franchise Mode
Haven’t played this in a few years and I’m genuinely excited to get my copy this year!
Silly of me to pick it back up once my Tigers have hit rock bottom, but here we are.
If anyone can point me to a slider thread for guys who maybe aren’t stick warriors, I’d love to contribute.

Wait for this guy's sliders. I've found them to be solid for the casual player for several years (although I tweak them to suit my needs, it is a good base).Comment

Even in last year's games, during the offseason they had a layout / calendar where you couldn't possibly miss what was happening because it wouldn't even let you go to the next "stage" without a huge popup asking you if you want to sim or finish the task.Comment

I was objective yesterday but I'm starting to come around with the game. But with that being said, I disagree with this.

It was all in the game and mentioned, but it wasn't brought to the forefront and "in your face" the way that it is in '18.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Twitch Stream Starting Now - Franchise Mode
I agree with the last part. That is long over due. As for as complaining because someone has "expectations" is silly. We should all want new things. Create-a-stadium has been teased as if it is something they are working on. It might be years away because of resources, but they have teased it. To be honest with you, I don't really care as I don't have the patience for custom building.
But I'm sorry, saying that the customers and fan base are to blame because they have "expectations", which I never stated I expect us to get those features. As a matter of fact, I didn't. I simply stated "maybe we'll get." I also didn't attack the game or its developers. I plan to buy the game.

What I mean.. is that if we can temper our expectations, there would be less disappointment when we don’t get that massive feature such as create a stadium.
A lot of misconception around here is that the guys arguing for SDS and taking up for them WANT THE SAME EXACT thing. For some reason, I feel people think We don’t want to see things improved.
By part of the issue, I didn’t mean you are causing problems by wanting stuff, you should absoutley and do absoutley have the right to want and voice that as much as you want. But when we get these great ideas and think maybe that’ll be in next year, it sets you up for disappointment. I’d rather expect low and hope they aim high. BUT voice your opinion and what you want to see as much as possible constructively. If that makes sense.
Sorry if that came across different, problem with internet debates haha.Comment
