Plus, assuming the Orioles are rebuilding why would they take on Puig's contract?
That is why I said I could understand if the return isn't what they would be looking for. That said, Puig doesn't have a bad contract. His surplus is very similar to Schoop's actually. I'm not as high on Puig as I am Schoop but he doesn't have a bad contract.

My bad I was thinking he signed for around 100 million not 50 lol. What year are you in your Franchise? I think he is a free agent after 2019, so with that in mind I doubt they would resign which would make this trade not worth it for the Orioles since he wouldn't have any future with them.

Still taking realism into this, you would probably have to include Yadier Alvarez or Yusneil Diaz to get the Orioles to listen. On the spreadsheet the trade for Schoop with the Brewers was for Corbin Burnes who is ranked around 65 in the top 100 prospects.

        Hi guys,

What's the value (& possible trades) for Brett Gardner. I'm not hitting well with him and I plan to let him walk anyway.

Might as well get something for him & promote Frazier.

        Thanks!

I agree, I think there was an error in believing I need to exchange Puig. Puig could have been in a separate deal. Baltimore is likely more interested in a Buehler or Verdugo.

still in the market for a reliever. The Giants are 4th in the NL West so I'm going to try to poach one of their relievers. What do you guys think about these options:

            SF Gets:
            -- RHP Max Fried (1-2, 1 save, 34.1 IP, 2.36 ERA, 1.25 WHIP at Triple-A Gwinnett)
            -- RHP Luke Jackson (0-1, 32.2 IP, 1.65 ERA, 0.95 WHIP at Double-A Mississippi)

            ATL Gets:
-- Derek Law (2-0, 23.0 IP, 0.78 ERA, 0.78 WHIP) and coming off an injury

            ------

            SF Gets:
            -- RHP Patrick Weigel (5-4, 3.68 ERA, 1.29 WHIP at Double-A Mississippi)
            -- 3B Rio Ruiz (.239/.333/.265, 0 HR, 12 RBI in 35 games at Triple-A Gwinnett)

            ATL Gets:
            -- Hunter Strickland (0-2, 7.15 ERA, 1.72 WHIP, -0.1 WAR in 22.2 innings)

MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

Hi guys! I’m more of newbie when it comes to the show and realistic trades. Running a Blue Jays ‘Chise and looking make some moves but need some help.

I know this might be unrealistic since he is hurt at the moment... but can someone help me put together a trade for Tulo also? I don’t have any specific players, just really open to any options. I was looking to trade him at the deadline.

I am looking to get rid of Tulo and don't find much use in him when I got Urena in here. I tried doing all the math and I didn’t get it at all.

Pittsburgh played horribly in the first season of my chise Marte had a -0.5 WAR and hit below 200 which if my calculation is correct has him at -4.8 surplus value

What does it take to bring him to Toronto at this point with Pit looking like a rebuild candidate would they trade him for a couple lotto tickets or Would he take more as he has shown flashes of better in the past?

Tulo's surplus value is like -25M right now. It's even worse when you consider the fact that he's going to miss at least half of the current season. Thus, you're getting a low level lottery play at best in a salary dump trade. I couldn't honestly tell you who would be interested in bringing on Tulo either. He hasn't hit over .255 in three years and is coming off of a serious injury. His position isn't one that a whole lot of teams need to fill. Weirdly, maybe send him back to Colorado after the 2018 season should they not resign LeMahieu. That is probably your best option. It makes sense nostalgia wise and they'll be in the market for a second basemen. They aren't going to give you anything but a fringe-maybe kind of prospect though.

Definitely not enough. I get he had a poor season but this is a guy we have listed at 67M Surplus (probably needs updated) on our log going into this season. It would be borderline impossible to erase that kind of surplus in a single season. That package starts with Alford's name attached.

Alright so gonna have a lot of trades coming up in my Yanks chise. I'm gonna use the approved trades to try and move as much as I can.

But first I would like a more clear idea of what Clint Frazier's trade value is. I understand and have figured out the math for getting players values, but I'm not great at all with prospect guys.

I'm gonna move him, just don't know what kinda ballpark return I should be trying to get back.

Frazier is really hard. He was a top prospect just last year but has fallen out of favor pretty quick. He sits somewhere between being a serviceable young talent and a real quality prospect. I don't know that you can truly do anything more than offer up a guess. If I were guessing, his value is somewhere around 15M. That puts him among the bottom of the Top 100 Prospect list in value. That is the best I can offer up on him if we're being honest. He fell out of favor a bit last year and finished with a negative WAR. I think most think that last year isn't indicative of the kind of ballplayer he is going to be but it is all we have to work off of. If I did the math using his WAR from last year his value would be completely shot, which is ridiculous.

If you put Buehler or Verdugo in the trade they would be stupid to not do it if there is no plan to resign Schoop after Machado goes.

I’ll leave it to you and the other experts for value but including one of those guys may be an over payment if this trade is done in 2019 since Schoop would just be a two-three month rental. That’s why I mentioned Alvarez or Diaz since they are the next top prospects after Buehler and Verdugo.

If it's me (as a Pirates fan), I'm looking at Alford, Zeuch, and Samad Taylor. If it's Nutting/Huntington, they know the value of Marte's contract regardless of the down year. No heir after Cervelli, so Jansen over Alford (+ Zeuch and Taylor) could get it done.

Before his value fell off I was considering, using him as the cornerstone to bring in a good SP, but now just gonna get someone to give Torres and the guys a little more time.

Personally, I most certainly think you could use Frazier as the main face of a trade for either of those guys. Him and a lottery should be enough.
