Lack of attention to franchise mode..thoughts?

Why are organizations capped at 90 man rosters with limited minors again? Is it due to licensing issues with those teams? Dont remember the exact reason

It is a memory issue.

They want to expand the rosters, but at this point it doesn’t seem as though it will be made possible this generation

And before someone claims it, leaving out MTO wouldn’t have allowed this.

Has the Ohtani issue been approached yet? They showed the linuep screen for a game but they didn't scroll down far enough to see if you can actually have a pitcher bat in the DH spot

Ok, first of all, please don't take this as a defense of the show's presentation, and instead take it as the friendly neighborhood suggestion that it is.

Turn commentary off.

It will be weird at first, but you will get used to it within 5 to 10 games. I first did it because I found the caster's yakking in my ear every at bat way to distracting. Initially I wished I could just turn it off for my at bats, but soon enough I was hooked an "on the field" audio experience. But it didn't end there.

Soon enough I was adding my own commentary from my head. It was just a natural thing that evolved, and although it's not as intuitive as hearing the voice in your ear, my fantasy commentary was far more dynamic and interesting.

Playing Jays games, I can hear Buck Martinez's voice in my head as I play. I know it's a stretch, and not for everyone, but after watching the streams one of the biggest things that stuck out to me was how much worse of an experience it is with the commentary on. It's just so dry and canned vs the commentary I imagine in my head.

I've been turning the sound down and listening to the radio for many years. I also eliminate all cut scenes between pitches.

On my SOTS with theme 2 my in between inning music is the stadium specific music and signature vendor yells for that city. That is my day at the ball park theme and I typically turn off the commentary to change it up.

So I do both. Which keeps things fresh over the course of the season.

I don't get into detail about the franchise than a lot of people do. If you're one of those people that's perfectly fine. I do not do a 32 team control. I'm just like to select my lineup and play the game. I do like the fact contracts will be correct this year. I just don't get caught up in all the intricacies in the game. You give me a game with great gameplay and I will play the hell out of it, especially baseball video games. SCEA does a great job with gameplay. It has improved every year.

I think franchise is fine, as long as the game plays well, and the issues like the budget are fixed than it’ll be a great mode in my opinion.

Your post here has just given me a great idea for TS '20. A radio broadcaster. They tried it in Madden years back and it didn't work but for baseball, I think it would. Rather than mess about with the current broadcast team which I actually think is good, it would offer an alternative for those tired of Matty V. But the commentary would be a single broadcaster describing in detail what is happening on the field and giving copious amounts of statistical data derived from those that the game already tracks.

Pitch 1, a slider down and away out of the zone. 1-0.
Turner is hitting .300 this season and has shown great patience at the plate.
Pitch 2, a FB up and inside for strike 1.
He's also hit 3 of 5 against Verlander in his career with 2 HR's.
Pitch 3, a swing and a miss at a CU down and away. 1-2.
The Dodgers have nobody out in the third inning and haven't managed a hit yet, the crowd is starting to get restless.
Pitch 4 is an upstairs FB which sends Turner back to the dugout. 1 up, 1 down in this inning...

Nothing spectacular but the radio dude would be the hometown broadcaster calling the game so you could make him show a bit more favoritism to your team and more emotion for a big hit, homerun or win.

Keep the existing broadcast packages as they are and this would be a great addition imo.

when was 2 way players mentioned?? first I have heard about this, I would imagine if it was mentioned it be a huge thing.. I am guessing Ohtani is just a hitter this year though as he won't be pitching
