Meanwhile, the Orioles are predictably woeful as the rebuild continues apace. I brought up Mountcastle this week and he'll play every day, rotating between 1B/3B/DH. His ascension made Renato Nunez somewhat expendable as a 1B/DH type with low OBP and big power. Nunez is under team control through 2024, but with Mountcastle, Mancini, Hays, and Santander, there's really no need for him. There is, however, a dire need for young arms.

Thus, a rare intra-division trade was born. Murphy is generally slotted between #15 and #20 on Jays' prospect lists and projects as a back-end starter or multi-inning bullpen arm.

    BAL receives: RHP Patrick Murphy
    TOR receives: 1B/DH Renato Nunez

What’s the stats looking like for Nunez. This trade is intriguing to me. I’m in a similar situation needing some offends against LHP. Also, off to a hot start.

According to the trade value simulator Murphy is worth 2.5 and Nunez 0.5. You’re more likely to get a guy like Zeuch for Nunez or even Waguespack if Nunez is playing well. Murphy would likely take Nunez plus a bullpen arm like Tate or Fry ?

I’m the Brewers just starting the season. How realistic or good if a trade is the following. I would like to acquire Merrifield from KC. I could put him at 3B I think. According to the trade website it is even.

      Brewers trade
      Brent Suter 21.9
      Brice Turang 20.6
      Eduardo Garcia 4.9

      Royals trade
      Merrifield 44.2

He's pretty much doing Renato things. Through 35 games, he's hitting .210/.290/.478 with 10 HR and 22 RBI. Monster .272 ISO.

        20.0% K rate and 8.7% walk rate.

I’d say you could get Waguespack or Zeuch for him, but not Murphy unless you add a bullpen arm.

Would you trade away Aaron Judge and let the other team keep their 2 best prospects? If the answer is no, ask yourself why would another team trade you their star face of the franchise for lesser prospects. You can only get away with that when your farm looks like the Rays or Dodgers and your 3rd or 4th best prospect is still a top-50 type guy.

What would Jackie Bradley’s value be at the deadline if he is hitting well? He’s currently hitting .267 with 6 HR, 19 RBI, .842 OPS.

I like him platooning with Pillar in center right now, but if he could get me something decent I might have to do it. Also, since I mentioned him, what about Pillar if he is producing offensively?

I know usually an Arenado would be almost untouchable, was just thinking his value could be down due to his contract, the situation between him the team, and his upcoming opt out that gives him a chance to just leave if they don’t make him happy by then. Plus the full NTC they would have to work with dealing him.

                Appreciate the help.
Have one more that’s more realistic.
What would it take to get Trevor Bauer? Stats so far are 2.82 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 2.91 FIP. FA after this season. Reds are 11.5 out of the NL Central, 9 out of the WC. So this is assuming they don’t get back in it and end up sellers.
Garcia as the main piece in the return I assume?

I think Deivi and Florial get the job done. Bauer is an elite rental in this scenario and Deivi is the headliner and Florial has all kinds of tools but seems to need a change or scenery.

What would it take for the Red Sox to get Matthew Boyd or Thor? Boyd has two years of control left while Thor only has one.

Also, would the Tigers trade Fulmer given how low his stock is?

Playing as the Rockies at the All Star break. Traded Arenado in June to the Braves for Riley, Waters, Inciarte and Anderson. Our seasons basically done. Want to build around Story and my prospects. Anything logical I could move Blackmon for? Hes hitting .295 with 12 Hr's. Hes old but still useful for a playoff push I think for a contender. Yankees, Red Sox, Houston, Dodgers, Oakland, Tampa, Mets, Cubs and White Sox are all in it right now to name a few.

IMO the A’s and Rays would be out due to their budget. The Red Sox, Dodgers and Mets have not obvious spot for him barring injuries. And the Cubs are almost maxed out with their budget already and would probably only do it if you took Hayward back which doesn’t really make sense for you.

I would say the best fit is the White Sox. They are in win now mode and their line up is mostly right handed.

Charlie Blackmon sent packing in my Rockies rebuild to St Louis who is competing for the division, 2 games back at the break. I receive 1 of 2 pitchers, Ryan Helsley or Johan Oviedo, with Outdielder Lane Thomas.

Make sense? Too much, too little?

                              Trade simulator has this at:

                              STL receives: -$19.6
                              COL receives: +$9.2

I’d be behind this if there was a way to retain money (come on SDS!), but taking the back end of that Blackmon contract through his age 37 season is going to be a regrettable move for any team, especially given that he a liability in the field.

Would make more sense in the AL, no?

Replace Lane Thomas with Dexter Fowler and it makes a lot more sense. Bad contract swap, Rockies still get a pitcher(s) with some upside, and Fowler gets to return to his original team (feel good story?)
