Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread

While I’m in this thread, does anyone have any opinion on how to handle the Indians outfield?

    CF:
    Mercado
    Naquin
    Desheilds jr
    Summer
    Allen

    RF:
    Reyes
    Luplow

    LF:
    Santana

Mercado and Reyes are untouchable to me. I feel like I should get rid of at least one of the other guys—as I need a few things, but it’s hard to pick.

I actually traded Naquin for prospects before my season started [emoji2369]

I’m leaning towards Trading Naquin too. He’s an overall solid player and a good bat but I prefer most of the others to him (I’ve never forgiven him for the WS in 16 so I have no problem dealing him lol) I just had an ugly opening series with the Tigers, but I’m a little rusty.

I think I’ll shop him around.

In my franchise I actually traded Domingo Santana before the year. I love naquin in this game. He has a good bat and VERY good defense with 99 arm strength. Sent Greg Allen to triple A. You have to keep Luplow for lefties. I like having deshields on the bench bc of his speed and he actually plays second base too.

Yeah I’m going to have to dump Naquin or Zimmer. I’m liking Santana thus far. I’m going to work a deal before I progress much further.

Is there a rule against trading playing you’ve just signed that I’m unaware of? Young 20s—A potential, top ranked prospect—and literally 0 offers. On the plus side I’ve got a great farm system now lol.

I honestly haven’t even ever received an offer in this game yet lol. You could probably get a decent haul for zimmer since he’s A potential.

When you sign a free agent the game does prevent you from trading them for awhile. I don't know the length but i would figure at least a month, probably 2 months.

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread

I'm about 10 days away from the trade deadline and I'm mulling over a 3-teamer I'd love to get the boards opinion on. I do full 30 team control and try to have the best interest of all 30 teams. I like to make my trades as fair as possible. If you overlook the unlikely hood of a 3 teamer between teams of the same division (something I always thought silly, just make the best trade) I think its a nice fair trade for all involved but again I'm open to input.

The Rays are having a very good year, they are 1.5GB in the East but they are running away with the top wild card spot. The bullpen has been shakey for them, Alvarado is having a tough year (over 5.50ERA and was replaced as closer by Anderson, who is doing well but that spot could be upgraded) Kiermaier missed the first 2 months of the season with an injury and has struggled with the bat since his return. In his absence Margot, Renfroe and O'Grady have been playing really well (+800 OBS for all three) Robertson is out for the year with an injury giving them nobody to spell Adames which is starting to effect his play.

The Bluejays are a few games below .500 and their starting pitching has really let them down. With the young arms coming up I think they set their sights to putting together a nice run in '21.

The Orioles are not great and continue to look to rebuild.

                  The Trade:

TB gets- Ken Giles and Jose Iglesias (from Bal) who is having a nice year at the plate and is a good versatile defender at all IF spots.

Tor gets- Kiermaier and Mychal Givens. Kiermaier gives them the CF they need for next year and Givens who is having a nice year in Bal and is under club control for an extra year gives them an Giles replacement. TB has Kiermaier replacements and would most likey look to trade him anyway to avoid paying for him.

Bal gets- Alvarado (he is having a rough year but is still young, talented and under club control, a good rebuilding piece out of the bullpen) Greg Jones SS (TB #10 prospect)

                    Trade would never happen.

Are you saying that because of the divisional thing or do you not think the trade is fair for one team or another?

If no one else give you constructive feedback on this I can come back to it another time, but on a realism note, 3 team trades are fairly rare. Inter-division trades are not commonplace. When you combine a 3 team inter-division trade the odds of something like this going down are miniscule.

You would be better off making 2 team trades with teams not in the same division. Or if you go interdivision, then just focus on the Giles to Tampa framework. The Rays have like 15 infielders on their team, they can find a guy to fake it at SS every once in a while if Adames needs a breather. And if Adames got hurt it would just be Wander Franco time.

I'd love your input. Is it just the divisional thing or do you not like the player value for a certain team? The Rays SS's are either hurt or not ready (struggling in the minors) Wander got hurt for a few months and has only had about 80ABs in AA this season, I'd think they want more of a sure thing for a pennant chase.

If you want Gallo, I don't think you get to choose to keep Gorman. Unless you want to trade Dylan Carlson that is.
