One of your top prospects not named Mauricio.

Probably gets headlined by Gimenez or Alvarez. Needs to be all prospects, no MLB guys going to the Pirates because they're tanking and would want young controllable assets

I'm using the updated SDS rosters and they had a random generated 95 potential 2B on them, so sent him over to the pirates along with Vientos and Zanon

Getting close to Trade Deadline in 2021. Trying to gauge value for some players. All would be rentals for rest of season. This is a carry-over franchise from 2018.

Astros have been given real life loss of draft picks in 1st and 2nd round of 2019 and 2020 draft

Carlos Correra - Deciding rather to keep for entire year and give him the 1 Year tender. See what happens, or trade for some valued prospects. Thinking of a Manny Machado to the Dodgers type deal.

Lance McCullers Jr - Decent year

Starling Marte - On the Dodgers. Traded at beginning of season. Has been injured for 2 months. Just got back to healthy

Corey Segar - All Star, having a great year.

Kelvin Herrera - 34 saves, 1.38 ERA. Having a great year. White Sox are done for the season.

Noah Syndergaard - Having a typical Thor season. Thinking of a Yu Darvish type deal. 10 Games left until trade deadline. A lot could change for Mets deciding.

Tigers are looking to trade for RP Andrew Miller from the Cardinals. Jake Rogers, Spencer Turnbull, Joe Jimenez are a few of the prospects we are willing to part with. Management had changed in Detroit and building a team that can win now is the direction we are going. We want a proven guy closing out games for us as much as we like Joe Jimenez's potential.

What would the Cardinals need in return to make a deal happen? We would like to send SS Jordy Mercer in the deal to help with budget considerstions

With Miller's disappointing performance he's worth next to nothing. If you wanna feel better about the deal or he's having a good season throw them one of Beau Burrows, Anthony Castro, or Franklin Perez on top of your salary matching piece

Burrows is far too good a prospect to send for Miller. Others are fine though

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread

This is my first time using this forum for MLB, so thought I'd ask:

Doing an Orioles rebuild, was offered Jo Adell by LAA for 2B Andrew Velazquez at the deadline. Context: I'm the worst team in the MLB, LAA is fighting for a Wild Card. Velazquez would see some time for LA at different spots, Adell was not being used at all (3 ABs) and was blocked long-term at all three OF spots (and competing with Marsh to be the fourth OF moving forward).

Adell had fallen to the 30s in prospect rankings and was a 69 overall, Velazquez had risen to a 76, is eligible at CF and all but 1B in the infield, and is only 24. Both had the green arrow next to their ratings.

I took the deal, which was rated by the game surprisingly as only a slight/moderate overpay by the Angels, but felt it was too unfair, so I traded Austin Hays (70 CF with a green arrow, B potential, 24 years old, former top-25 prospect in real life) who had started all year for me to LAA for a couple 18 year old prospects with B potential, which according to the game's trade meter made up for about half of the difference of the Adell deal.

I still feel it is too lopsided though, even in the context of what both teams and their situations look like in my particular franchise, especially because now Hays won't see a ton of time for them. Any recommendations for how to balance it out? I had thought of dealing one of my second-fourth picks to LA for their worst prospect this offseason. That would be either a 68 SP with B potential who is 20 years old, a 69 LF with C potential but good tools that is 21, or a 63 SP with B potential, but who is only 18.

If you're in 2020. Angels would never take that deal at all. Orioles don't have one player that the Angels would trade Joe Adell for.

Not many players in MLB that Jo Adell would be traded for.

Sounds like you are using the default rosters.

IRL this deal would never happen under any circumstance. Adell is a consensus top 10 prospect in MLB while Velasquez was never even a top 30 prospect on his own team.

But your franchise is not real life so just roll with it. Pretend Adell kicked Trout’s dog and the team had no choice but to deal him.

What gets a Whit Merrifield deal to the Redsox done. I'm contending for 1st place in late june. Downs, Casas, Groome?

You could balance it out by giving them Adley Rutschman for some of their trash. Thats about the only way to balance that trade

Update: I ended up selecting Alex Kirilloff (69 ovr. A potential, top prospect) first overall in the Rule 5 draft and trading him to LA for its worst prospect.

Why is it so hard to trade for Short Stops? I’ve tried to trade a range of different players for a range of different short stops but can’t seem to get anything done.

Is short stop an important position? Do I need to over pay?

There are a lot of good shortstops in the league and the game reflects that with high overall and potential. However, you should be using 30 team control or force trades and determining value through this tool https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/trade-simulator/ or by using the trade value method at the start of the thread.

That helps LAA with value but doesn't really change the calculus that you fleeced the computer. Kirilloff would never be available in the Rule 5 Draft
