Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread
1 - Yanks trading German is an obvious dump because of the DV allegations and suspension. Any team that takes him on is going to be scrutinized and thats probably something a team like the Pirates wants to avoid. Their 2019 season was marred with clubhouse fights and the horrendous allegations against Felipe Vazquez.
2 - Florial’s value is highly dependent on his 2020 performance. It’s a huge year for him. He’s got undeniable talent and athleticism but injuries and inconsistency have stopped him from getting above A-ball for going on 3 years now. He was supposed to go to AA this year ... his value could really be anywhere between future all-star and future 4th outfielder depending on how he’s performing in your franchise.Comment

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread
I'm almost in July and nearing the All-Star break. Each year I do my own breakdown (in my MLB The Show notebook... yes I'm a dork) of players on selling teams with expiring contracts as well as contending teams and their needs. I also consider many other variables. I always like to make some trades in July for the CPU based on the needs of their teams and I obviously try to make them as realistic as possible.
One player in particular that has had a lot of trade speculation in real life has been Nolan Arenado. I don't quite yet have the Rockies listed as a, "seller," but they're awfully close. As of June 30th they're 34-50, 25.5 games out of first in the NL West and they're fading very fast in the Wild Card as well at 9.0 games out.
The Milwaukee Brewers are in need of a third baseman, badly. Eric Sogard has played most of the year at third for them and Jed Gyorko also has played third. Both of whom are free agents at the end of the year. Is there a scenario where the Brewers could land Arenado? What do they give up for him? Obviously it would be a huge haul for Arenado, who is under contract through 2026, but his $32.5 M per year price tag is very hefty. I'm not even sure I can make it happen in the game financially for the Brewers.
Other teams I have listed as, "contenders," include...
Boston Red Sox
New York Yankees
Atlanta Braves
Los Angeles Dodgers
Cleveland Indians
Minnesota Twins
Chicago White SoxLast edited by Gagnon39; 05-06-2020, 04:25 PM.Comment

Brewers don't have any depth to get a trade package.Comment

How would the Braves score Arenado? And I'm not even sure I can make it work for any team in the game due to, "budgetary constrains."Comment

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread
Rangers lost Elvis Andrus to a torn ACL, obviously out for the year. They’ve been using Anderson Tejada with Kiner-Falefa. Production hasn’t been terrible but they could use an upgrade. It’s mid May and are in 4th place in the AL West, approx. 6 games out, and much closer in the WC standings. So they have signed Addison Russell to a two-year deal at 2.6/yr. Addison with a chance to revitalize his career!Comment

If we assume he didn't blow out his arm them you're looking at the David Price example I gave on the original comment to this.Comment

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread
So im playing as the Angels and am near the trade deadline in 2021 season. I am looking for a power hitting first baseman to replace Pujols. Thaiss isnt cutting it for me and i think a change of scenery would be good for him.
I was looking at maybe Pete Alonso. I know he probably isnt the most realistic target but the Mets drafted the top 1b man last year and he is already in the top 10 prospect list and ready for the Majors.
Maybe someone knows a better target?
Am willing to trade anybody not named Trout.
Is a package consisting of Shohei and Adell enough for them? To much to little? Or maybe something along the lines of Shohei, Maitan and an drafted A rated catching prospect (he is gonna be ready for the Majors around the end of 2022 early 2023)
Thanks in advance guysChicago Cubs
