Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread
Well then your trade is given the stamp of approval.
Almora (66/B, 25 years old) in my franchise is hitting .239/.272/.323 with 1 HR, 2 RBI and 2 R. He has 13 K / 2 BB. I think he has a double and 2 SB. Only 13 games (46 AB) as it is only the first month of the season. Just thinking of minor swaps early.
Cubs are in second with a record of 14-13 (1 GB of NL Central). They have lost Rizzo for a couple of months with a broken arm but otherwise no other injuries. He is in a platoon situation thus far with the Cubs.
Waguespack (63/B, 25 years old) has only 1 scoreless IP with the major league club so far. He’s been predominately in AAA with a 1.54 ERA and 8 K in 11.2 IP.
Would the deal work 1-1?

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread
According to the game (not the trade calculator) that's not going through for the Blue Jays. Meaning you have to offer it from the Cubs (assuming you run 30-team control). However, if Almora's just having a mediocre year I think it's possible. What would seal it for me (if I was the Cubs) would be another pitching prospect (no one that spectacular, may be a C potential) OR an arm for the bullpen that can contribute at the Major League level.

Then we just leave Almora and Wagespack out of it? Chatwood and Ademan for Giles? The game approves it but I like to have it cleared on the trade thread as well.Comment

I liked Almora coming over to help in CF but if it doesn’t work it doesn’t work I guess!
I just use 30 team control and put it through.

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread
in 2021, ChiSox signed Realmuto in the offseason (MLB devs)
I'm the Mets and the end of May they offered me Grandal for Dom Smith. Like Dom, but I wish the computer made trades a wee bit more realistic. I took it thoughComment

Trade talks have stalled between the Cubs and Blue Jays. Haha.

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread
Sorry if it's been talked about but I'm wondering what everyone is doing in year one of their franchise with the top unsigned free agents?
Puig, Scooter, Even Henderson Alvarez... I'm about to start a 30 team control franchise in Spring Training. I'm waiting to see if anyone has a star go down with an injury before signing some of them but by opening day, I want them on a team.
I also do 30 team control. In my franchise David Peralta suffered a season ending injury in spring training, so I signed Puig to Arz to a 1yr deal.
In my franchise KC is doing very well, I'm in early June and they are 2GB in the central behind Min. Their lineup is mashing except Nicky Lopez. So I had KC sign Scooter and put him in AAA. After 30 abs or so in AAA Scooter is mashing and I'm about to call him up to help KC.
The only other FA of note I recall that I put on a team was Danny Salazar to CHIW but of course he got hurt for 6 months after throwing 2 innings.Comment

Scooter is still a free agent but at some point he will sign a minor league deal to a team that needs a 2B.Comment

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread
I'm not doing a 30 team control, but I wanted to make a 3 team trade (I'm playing an Indians franchise), so i took over control of the Dodgers and Reds to make the following trade:
Indians receive:
Josiah Gray
Kody Hoese
Hunter Greene
Nick Lodolo
Nick Senzel
Tyler Stephenson
Dodgers receive:
Francisco Lindor
Nick Wittgren
Sam Hentges
Michael Lorenzen
Reds receive:
Mike Clevinger
Brad Hand
Corey Seager
It's a huge blockbuster (approved by baseballtradevalues.com) and it gives the Dodgers another star player with the possibility of extending him if they would choose to do so. The Reds go from outsider to serious contender in the central and the Indians get a lot of talent not too far removed from the majors, basically retooling while trying to stay competitive.
Obviously such a big trade would probably not happen in real life due to the amount of pieces moving and maybe the money involved. However, I felt it wasn't too unrealistic as I tried to respect each team's position and future outlook. The Reds obviously gave up a lot (their top 4 prospects) but they also get one of the best starters with reasonable team control, a good closer to ride out the season and a relatively young shortstop with also some team control to add to an already strong lineup. Maybe I could have let them keep Lodolo and send another good Dodgerts pitching prospect the Indians way (like Gonsolin).
That is a hell of a creative trade. It wouldn't work in my Franchise is Galvis is hitting the crap out of the ball so Seager would be a downgrade at this point.
Is there a clear path for the Dodgers to sign both Lindor and Mookie long term?
This clearly is a great trade for CLE though.Comment

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread
Rockies get:
Noah Syndergaard
Ames Rosario
Mets get:
Trevor Story
Antonio Senzatella
Who says no?
Rockies get a pitcher they desperately need and the Mets get a Gold Glove caliber 30-30 shortstop.

I don't think the Rockies give the courtesy of saying no, they just slam the phone down.Comment

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread
What’s up with all these 1-for-1 trades between CPU controlled teams that are B’s being traded for D’s? It makes zero sense. I reverse every one using 30-team control, but I’m having to reverse 3-5 a day and it’s getting old. I like CPU trading but come on. I’m considering turning it off and just making some deals that I think would be realistic for them.

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread
As I near the All-Star break and then trade deadline I always like to look at teams that are going to be sellers and those that will be buyers. I always like to make some trades for teams that I feel would be realistic. I look at contending teams and find weak spots in their depth charts and then try to match them up with teams that are well out of the playoffs and have some good players that fit their needs, especially those with expiring contracts or limited years remaining.
One that I’ve found so far is the Brewers and Giants. Milwaukee could use some help in their rotation and San Francisco’s Jeff Samardzija would probably be a good addition for them. What would it take to bring over Samardzija, who will be a free agent at the end of the year he’d probably be their 3 or 4 starter, so he’s not an ace obviously.
