Re: CPU Bullpen Management
Some tidbits from our roster thread that I thought I would share on the bullpen logic, and what I've been experimenting with this year:
The main issue is that the CPU doesn't use SU relievers properly. I try to make sure there are no pitchers in the LRP spots, if possible. I am also rotating the SU relievers for whatever MRPs have the most innings about every 8 games or so, to help better balance bullpen usage.
For closers, the CPU will sometimes put other players in the CP spot. I will allow this until the replacement gets at least 1 save, then switch back the regular CP. This will help with save opportunities.
For example, Craig Kimbrel is the Cubs closer. I saw the AI replace Kimbrel with Rowan Wick after Kimbrel struggled a bit. After Wick gets a save or two, I replace him with Kimbrel. I check the bullpens before my games (I play 1 out of every 4 games). If Kimbrel is replaced by Wick again, I will replace Wick with the SU reliever or someone else who has either been pitching well or is close to Wick in OVR.Comment

Re: CPU Bullpen Management
I use 7 for all pitchers stamina and I've been bouncing between 6 and 7 for the hook which is basically the same as TheWarmWind's suggestions and the game's playing great for me. More of you should give it an honest try.YouTube: MLB The Show 21 Atlanta Braves FranchiseComment

Re: CPU Bullpen Management
I would caution persons against raising the starter stamina, reliever stamina, and manager hook sliders during simulated games because:
-You will see the infamous complete game issue from SPs and IPs will be high league-wide
-You will see low ERAs league-wideComment

Re: CPU Bullpen Management
With Starter slider at 1, in played games, the starter gets gassed way too soon.
I'm not seeing the low ERA/High complete games in my Franchise.....Comment

Re: CPU Bullpen Management
That's what I suggest: one set for simulating games, one set for playing games
What is the team ERA for the 15th highest team in your franchise right now?Comment

But for someone who wants gameplay to be good, without having to change up sliders each time they sim a day. I would take mine over yours, as for game play wise.
But obviously, the perfect solution would be a set for game play, and a set for simming.
Heck, in past years, I even used a third set for "ROAD" games where the sliders were adjusted to give the CPU a much better advantage.....making playing on the road harder than playing at home.Comment
