21:08 mark, stadium info shows stadium place and says "Major Metro". Don't know if this is like "suburbs" vs "city" or if it'd the default name for the park but is interesting, pretty sure it's just the name of the city probably. Also altitude, year and seat color are choosable from this menu, sweet. Wonder what limitations there are for altitude and how it'll affect the stadium.

22:03 mark, the Big A is in and looks higher quality than it ever has (since it's not visible on anything but pop-ups and flyballs in Angels Stadium). This works well to my making 1966 Angels Stadium

Couple seconds later you got placeable bridges. I kinda wanna make something with a bridge just beyond the field. Hit a homerun onto the bridge!

I noticed the homerun apple from Shea and Citi Field. I wonder if there are things we can make trigger when we hit a homerun?

It also seems like we can place props pretty far out. Around the 23:35 mark we can place a scoreboard on the surrounding rock formations.

Looks like mounds of grass/ground/dirt are placeable. Got everything on mounds of grass around the 23:50 mark.

Letting is nice. Looks like different font types are available. At least blue standard font and then dinosaur bones least we can spell some stuff out. That won't get abused online at all.

Did notice that the distant scenery takes up storage (not too surprising). Looks like Red Rocks takes up the least while costal takes up the most? I think costal is the one with the amusement park pier thing so that might be why.

Anyone else pick anything else up?
They mentioned it, but attaching objects to other objects, and then being able to move them in tandem is a really nice QOL element. There's going to be plenty of smaller things to ask (beyond the major stuff like ad boards and domes), but these are good finds.

Re: MLB The Show 21: Stadium Creator and Next-Gen Details

I think those that have been wishing for a stadium creation tool could not be happier. They really developed this thing to be a monster.

Very happy for those that really love doing this sort of thing.

But there is nothing that is moving the needle for me for this years game. This will be the first time since 2009 I will not purchase the game on release.

      The streak is over.

But hey.....I am sure the game will play great. But we know my reasons I am sitting this one out for most of this cycle.

I do think at some point way later in the year I can pick this up to play some RTTS if I hear great feedback on the new video pod casts and also on March To October improvements.

Franchise? MLB 20 is all I need on the PS5. We are extremely happy right there.

I really hope they bring Y2Y or at the very least roster importing back on 22.....because I simply do not see roster creators starting from scratch every cycle. That is just crazy after the run we had on PS4. Can’t be stressed enough the content available in terms of replay ability for old school classic roster baseball fans.....and Bacon’s brilliant Fictional Roster too!!!

There is also a lot of important things we want for franchise mode (expanded Rosters being at the very top of the list with Y2Y saves) to make it a must have game again.

Being able to choose our stadium in RTTS is such a game changer.

I usually play for the Mets in RTTS and now I can create the Binghamton/Syracuse ballparks to play in before I reach the majors.

I like that a lot now that you mention it! It'll be great when you decide to change some dimensions after the fact and you don't have to move 100 individual pieces and just move the big chunk of then. That's gonna make things a lot easier.

As for ad boards, I'm assuming we'll get existing ones at least like Levi's and coke, if not the MLB Network stuff. At least it'll do for the time being for me.

Now I just gotta stick 10 Big A's in the outfield and see what it looks like

Super disappointing. The best thing about next-gen videos are the showcase of the graphical improvements over the previous gen. I'd skip it again this year if it weren't on Gamepass.

Damn yall are ridiculous. Your mad because they didn't mention hair texture??? Unlike madden, 2k, fifa that focus on that stuff and give crap games year after year. There are barely any mention of why they didn't improve gameplay which tells me the game is playing good... it's that's what's really important or have they set the bar to high...

The ps4 gameplay was already outstanding. Features like this were sorely needed, imo.

You've got the old Greer Stadium guitar scoreboard. Now give me the new one at FHP.

I can get you the dimensions.

Added a monsterous feature that appears to be everything and more for a community that has BEGGED for this.

Some of y’all need to take a step back man. It’s usually the same people thread hopping too, whining thread to thread about the same crap.

Realize this was one, if not the biggest, community request and they absolutely nailed it. (Yes, there is a much bigger community than here at OS, though some don’t believe that)

The hell you mean “is this the only next gen feature?!? OMGGG”. Do you even realize how much freaking work this was and how much resources it required to make this a reality for a huge part of The Shows fan base? Man some of y’all are crazy lol

totally agree with this post armor and sword, in addition Im still not convinced sounds of the show will be back... If xbox cant support it they may removed it all together. They would need a different menu for the PS version of the game and im not sure if they would support only on PS and not xbox. I really dont think many have given much thought to this but dont be surprised if SOTS is NOT in 21.. I might be wrong but hey that would be another reason to stay with 20

I'm curious how much haptic features on the PS5 push the needle for folks. I love it on NBA 2K21, but sense it's not as big of a deal in a baseball game.

Hate to burst everyone’s bubble but I don’t think we’re going to see any graphical changes this Gen at all reason being the stadium creator and the stadiums that you can create are all using last gen assets still If they were to ever focus on graphics they would have to do a complete overhaul of those stadium assets as well which I really don’t think they’re going to do at all now

The fact that the Big A looks way better than it did before (since it was too far from the stadium and not visible outside of pop-flies and whatnot) I believe this is incorrect.

I have to admit I am disappointed. I already bought the game and not disappointed that I did as there are some things that sound promising (improved fielding animations, some franchise logic improvements, haptic feedback on PS5). But my general sense is this will be very similar to last version (which is still very solid).

Just seems like the biggest sell point is the stadium creator. I know many enjoy this and that is cool. For me personally I have zero interest in that. I just want to play in real ballparks anyway (I liken this to the course creator in PGA 2k.....cool but I want the real courses). I'd have rather seen the resources gone in different direction.
