I knew that stadium creator would be the meat of the stream today, but I’m surprised there wasn’t really any other next gen discussion (save haptic feedback). Not even a mention of anything related to frame rate, textures, face scans, lighting, etc.

Honestly it just furthers my assumption that they’re working on bigger graphical changes in the background. I think an update to player models, cloth physics, animations, and lighting are all closely tied together and may be in progress in the background as a 2-3 year process.

Gosh, I hope so, because it's a hard-pass for me on '21. I was really, REALLY looking forward to this date as the words "NEXT GEN" got me excited...I'm bummed...

I won't use the Create-a-Stadium feature as I am a pure SIM gamer who loves my offline franchise; I understand the "marketing" as they need to appeal to the broader audience who is not a SIM gamer...ah well. MLB '20 does everything for me and as I stated it runs buttery smooth. Definitely not worth $69.99, so I'll stick to what I have with the roster vault #bummed

I love the option of stadium creator but for me, it is a non factor unless we can upload rosters from 20. Without roster uploads and carry over saves, this feature is useless to me. Imagine if we could recreate stadiums from 80's and 90's with a classic retro roster. I only play the show for classic rosters and if roster creators have to start all over next gen, I'm sticking with 20 for foreseable future.

I won't use the Create-a-Stadium feature as I am a pure SIM gamer who loves my offline franchise; I understand the "marketing" as they need to appeal to the broader audience who is not a SIM gamer...ah well.

I don't care much for the feature in franchise, but historic stadiums with classic rosters is what I was really looking forward to. I doubt rosters carry over, but it would be amazing if they do. I hope that roster makers make it over to 21 and that we hear Y2Y saves and all of that are returning to 22 so we can have a huge library of rosters and stadiums moving forward.

I’d say there are a lot of 7 year old baseball fans out there who think otherwise.

Gotta remember this OS forum is a very very small minority of the games fanbase.

This forum has nothing to do with it. I highly doubt that if a 7 year old is into baseball...he's not a normal kid. He's probably not into UFOs and Dinosaurs. Baseball isnt as big of a game as it once was.

I’m sure it was a lot of work to implement this feature, but I have a feeling none of the create a stadiums will look as good as licensed stadium. They all seem a bit empty or generic. Was hoping for domes, but maybe next year. I’m gonna pass on this year. Game looks nearly identical on next gen.

I feel exactly the same. In '20 we have all those great rosters but not all the stadiums. Seems in '21 we can have all the stadiums, but lack the great classics rosters.

We will have to depend on all the great roster makes to get a ps5, get '21 and find some way to transfer their rosters. If not we have to hope they will start from scratch, which i don't see happening.

So, for now i'm not buying 21. I'm still very happy with '20 on the ps5.

Hats off to this amazing stadium creator mode but I must say I’m a bit disappointed graphics info wise. They’d better just called this feature stream “stadium creator deep dive” or something.

I’m sure they’ve done graphical improvements here and there bust just nothing drastical or noteworthy in their eyes.

For example check this screenshot; The grass meeting the dirt on the pitchermound where the grass is not perfectly cut off when hitting the dirt. I believe that wasn’t in before. Just small things like that might surprise us [emoji4]

Yeah my son is 5 (will be 6 in July) and he loves baseball. He watches it with me on tv, we attend games when possible, and he's addicted to playing the game in Little League.

He also enjoys dinosaurs, UFO's/aliens, video games, reading, school, drawing, and a host of other things.

He seems pretty normal to me because his classmates/friends are into similar things.

As to the comment that this is in response to, I love how someone picks two things/props out of 1500 or so they stated are in the game to try to drive home/validate a point. And to follow that up with an ignorant comment about what "normal" kids at a young age should be into.

This place never ceases to amaze me.

Using his logic, OOTP isn’t even sim. They have a stadium creator and my dude is THE sim baseball gamer. Wouldn’t be caught creating a stadium, that NEVER happens in real life man.

As much as the ability to select your stadium in RttS is exciting, there isn't anything compelling for me to pick up '21. The absence of Y2Y is the main reason I am skipping this game or will wait until it is on sell in the summer or fall. There isn't anything worth it to me spending $70 on this game.

Simply unbelievable.... Did they really just shoehorned DD in the "next gen" stream? That is beyond absurd. Seriously to only show off the stadium creator, (which they have done for weeks now) and not mention anything else besides 1 minute of talk about the duelsense and then cut straight to DD talk, is a slap in the face to everyone looking forward to hearing everything about Next Gen.

I was looking forward to next gen baseball but if they can't even be bother to give a small ounce of details as to why next gen is better than last gen other than stadium creator in its own dedicated stream, and instead talk about DD, you lose me.

Is there any way to cancel pre-orders on the ps5?
